Ascension Catholic Church, part of the Mother of God Family of Parishes, is seeking a part-time Assistant Pastoral Associate for Worship and Bereavement. This position will work closely with the Director of Worship to coordinate liturgical celebrations and play a central role in supporting bereaved families through the planning and celebration of funerals.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and be present to help facilitate daily Masses and some weekend and holy day liturgies.
• Lead Communion services as needed.
• Provide pastoral presence and support to individuals and families in planning and celebrating funerals.
• Plan, coordinate and be present to help facilitate funeral Masses.
• Coordinate funeral luncheons as needed.
• Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and lay leaders for parish liturgies and funerals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry, theology, or related, or a commensurate combination of education, training and  experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in parish ministry or a comparable setting
• Practicing Roman Catholic with a strong commitment to the Church and her teachings
• Thorough understanding of the Church’s sacred liturgy
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Some weekend and evening availability
• Competence in Microsoft 365/Google Workspace
