Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Science – Biology classes

Job Overview

Purcell Marian is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Long-Term Substitute Teacher to cover a temporary vacancy in our Science department. The ideal candidate will bring passion for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to supporting student success. This temporary position will cover extended leave for a faculty member.

Requirements:

• Teach Biology courses to freshman students, as part of the planned curriculum.
• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that fosters student learning.
• Implement lesson plans and assessments in alignment with curriculum goals.
• Create a supportive and structured classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support the school’s academic and community mission.
• Fulfill supervisory duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or related field required.
• Valid Ohio teaching license (or substitute license) required.
• Experience teaching at the high school level preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Purcell Marian High School.
