Professional Learning Sessions Offered This Summer by Sharon Willmes, Director of Leadership and Professional Growth: Classroom Management/Conflict Resolution for Elementary Teachers - Wednesday, June 9th, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Are you a first or second-year teacher that wants to cultivate a climate for well-behaved independent learners or simply a teacher that wants a refresher on classroom management? If so, this professional development is for you. This session will focus on the essential pieces of a classroom management plan and the steps that are crucial to take the first few days of school to create a well-managed classroom. Other topics that will be explored are possible approaches a teacher may want to take regarding a discipline plan along with Six Steps for Conflict Resolution with students. Time will be spent giving participants time to share their expertise, practices and ideas regarding classroom management, discipline and conflict resolution. This workshop will cover the professional development requirement for Resident Educators in Year 1 and 2. Participants will receive .3 FREE CEUs.
