Prison Ministry Group Volunteer Questions

Which feast day would you like to come celebrate with one of our communities? Plan at least three months ahead, all paperwork is due one month prior to the visit.
*note: these celebrations do not count for a Catholic’s obligation for Sundays or Holy Days of obligation, as most get transferred to fit the prison schedule, except if they actually occur on the Holy Day and Mass is celebrated. There are currently no Masses celebrated on Sundays in the prisons, they happen either on Monday or Thursday. It is by special permission of the Archbishop of Cincinnati, for the pastoral good of the incarcerated, that the Archdiocese Prison Ministry is allowed to celebrate the Sunday liturgy on a day other than Sunday and likewise to transfer the observance of Holy Days to the nearest day that we have a time slot in the chapel for Mass.
Can your group make it to a Thursday night prison ministry potluck dinner to get to know the director and receive basic training and instruction?
*note: the potluck dinners happen every week and are open invitation, but when planning for a group we need advance notice of a selected date.
Do you want the director or a representative of the prison ministry to come speak at your parish about this visit and prison ministry in general?
What kind of things would you like to plan for the celebration?
