Email Scams

The COVID-19 pandemic has precipitated an increase in online and telephone scams using very creative and convincing language and materials, including deceptive websites and email addresses. Please be wary of any unsolicited request for money, gift cards or information! If you have any doubt about the party contacting you, take the time to verify their identity before providing any personal information. Most importantly:

1. Never give your social security, credit card or bank account numbers to an unknown party

2. Do not click on digital pop-ups or attachments if you don’t know who they are from

3. Never share your password with anyone on the phone

4. Do not allow anyone to control your computer remotely
