The course focuses on the phonology\, orthography and structure of the English language; takes a comprehensive look at how students learn to read and write; and helps teachers to recognize the characteristics of learning disabilities. What makes Hamilton County ESC’s program unique is the practicum: each participant is assigned to a Master Teacher who provides one-to-one coaching and feedback on the creation and teaching of 16 lesson plans custom-tailored for the student the participant is tutoring during the course. Using the Edthena platform\, participants upload their lessons and videos of their instruction\, enabling instructors to give specific feedback at point of need on both planning and implementation of OG methodology. The maximum instructor/participant ratio in any cohort is 8:1. \nOptional College Credit can be purchased for an additional cost through Mount St. Joseph University.\n\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:Teaching About the Holocaust
DESCRIPTION:Echoes & Reflections is excited to present Catholic school educators with training and resources to help their students understand the history of antisemitism\, the Holocaust\, and modern manifestations of prejudice\, made possible by the generous support of Eileen Ludwig Greenland. \nOne of the central revolutions in Catholic education in the last forty years has been in its depiction of Jews\, Judaism\, and the Holocaust. This is due to the release of two essential Vatican documents separated in time by over thirty years. Join Echoes & Reflections Program Manager Jesse Tannetta\, former Catholic school educator and scholar of the Holocaust and Catholic theology\, to discuss the history of antisemitism\, best practices for teaching about the Holocaust\, and some of the complex moral questions underpinning successful teaching of the Holocaust in a Catholic school. \nRegister:
