Susan is a mom of four\, a grandma of four\, a world traveler\, and a collector of stories. Her professional quarantine accomplishments include the production of knowledge-based learning modules for kindergarten through grade-two students\, available through Amplify’s free resources website and Wide Open Schools. \n  \nJavonna Mack is the 2023 Science of Reading Star Award winner and Lead Content Teacher of Caddo Parish Public Schools. She has 21 years of experience working for the state of Louisiana\, 13 within the Caddo Parish School System supporting PreK–6 instruction. Specializing in literacy\, Javonna uses her experience to support teaching and learning on various campuses and at district professional development events. She focuses her support on ensuring application of Science of Reading principles and proper implementation of the Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum. Javonna enjoys reading and is an avid walker—you will often find her in her neighborhood parks or hiking trails. She is also a mother of four and grandmother of seven granddaughters.

DESCRIPTION:Important Session Information:\nThe CoTeaching Inquiry Lab Cohort is a professional learning experience that builds coteaching strategy and designs. Cohort members will learn\, observe\, hone\, and coplan collaborative teaching practices. Participants will have the opportunity to volunteer their classroom as an on-site lab. These volunteers will codesign the cotaught lesson alongside the facilitator/coach before all participants observe live coteaching and apply learning in real time. Focus areas will include: coplanning for learner variability in the cotaught classroom\, organizing the teachers for coteaching\, coteaching models\, and other sustainable practices for collaborative instruction. The overall purpose is to develop coteaching practices that utilize two teachers to transform the experience for ALL learners. \n\nBlended coaching will be conducted between lab sessions.
