DESCRIPTION:Audience:  SLPs\, teachers\, administrators\, intervention specialists\, psychologists\, ESL support staff\, general education teachers \nImportant Session Information: \nThis accelerated course is designed to support educators (speech language pathologists\, intervention specialists\, psychologists\, ESL support staff\, general education teachers\, special education teachers etc. in the school-based setting in appropriately supporting\, assessing\, and treating multi-language learners\, i.e.\, children who are learning a language in addition to English. \nThe course is set into three primary units. The first unit reviews typical multilingual language development and investigates the research regarding how the brain develops multiple languages. Learners will explore typical and atypical patterns of dual language learning and distinguish between simultaneous and sequential learners. \nThe second unit contains a practical guide on the intervention and assessment process for dual language learners. \nThe third unit discusses research based techniques and best practice regarding screening\, response to intervention\, assessment\, and intervention/therapy techniques. The third unit provides technological based recommendations and a review of the course. The third unit also discusses common misconceptions regarding multi-language learners and contains supplemental material on children who were internationally adopted as well as on language attrition. \nREGISTER \n

DESCRIPTION:Audience:  PK – 3 Teachers\, Special Educators\, Interventionists\, Paraprofessionals\, Tutors\, Administrators \n\nDescribe how mathematics is embedded within an iMTSS framework\, including the distinct purposes of Tier 1\, Tier 2\, and Tier 3 math instruction.\nIdentify the non-negotiable components of strong Tier 1 math instruction and explain when instructional challenges should be addressed through core instruction versus intervention.\nDistinguish between Tier 2 and Tier 3 math interventions\, including differences in instructional focus\, intensity\, group size\, and frequency.\nIdentify evidence-based math intervention practices and justify their use based on student need and available data.\nUse screening and classroom data to determine appropriate intervention decisions\, including when to initiate\, intensify\, or adjust math intervention supports.\nApply best-practice intervention strategies to instructional scenarios\, selecting appropriate instructional approaches and supports for given student profiles.\nUse a shared language to describe effective math intervention\, demonstrating a common understanding of expectations for high-quality implementation across classrooms and buildings.\nUnderstand the purpose and structure of the Comprehensive Math Intervention Framework and how it aligns with Ohio’s K–2 Learning Standards.\nLearn how to use common screeners to identify which students need Tier 2 or Tier 3 math intervention support and to determine the entry point for diagnostic assessment.\nLearn how to administer and interpret the diagnostic and progress monitoring tools to m\n\nImportant Session Information:\nAcross Ohio\, persistent gaps in early numeracy signal the need for more than isolated strategies\, and they demand a coherent\, research-informed system of intervention. This two-day professional learning experience is designed to equip district professionals with the knowledge and tools to implement effective K–3 math intervention practices and to confidently apply the Comprehensive Math Intervention Framework (CMIF)\, ensuring consistent\, high-impact support for every student. \n\nDay 1 focuses on best practices in math intervention within an iMTSS model. Participants will examine how mathematics fits within iMTSS\, experience examples of strong core and intervention instruction\, and develop a shared understanding of what effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 math support looks like. Through guided analysis and discussion\, educators will identify evidence-based instructional practices and intervention strategies that address common learning gaps in early mathematics. \nDay 2 introduces our Comprehensive Math Intervention Framework in depth. Participants will learn the purpose\, structure\, and standards alignment of CMIF and how it supports systematic intervention decision-making. Educators will explore how to use common screeners to identify which students need additional support and to determine appropriate entry points for diagnostic assessment. The day emphasizes practical application: administering and interpreting diagnostic and progress-monitoring tools\, using data to inform instruction\, and implementing targeted intervention activities in small-group or one-on-one settings through a user-friendly platform. Participants will receive access to use the tool for the 2026-2027 school year. \nThis session is intentionally designed for classroom teachers\, intervention specialists\, instructional coaches\, and administrators responsible for Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. Participants will leave with concrete tools\, shared language\, and a clear process for delivering timely\, data-driven math interventions\, ensuring more students are on track for success before third grade. All participants receive full access to the CMIF framework and resources. \nThere will be an option to earn 1 Semester Hour through Ashland University for an additional Fee. \nREGISTER
