SUMMARY:7 Mindshifts for School Leaders
DESCRIPTION:How do we shift our thinking from can we or should we solve a problem to how? In this webinar Connie Hamilton\, Joe Joseph\, and T.J. Attendees will leave empowered to address those issues that undermine well-intentioned efforts and limit student learning and growth. \nKey Takeaways:\n· Understand the power of a crisis mindset and how it is applied to persistent\, urgent\, and important issues\n· Identify perennial problems that are limiting school and district success\n· Introduction to one of the seven MindShifts and how it can be applied \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Braver Angels Fall Series Civility & Peace During the Election Season
DESCRIPTION:We all know how divided our society (and – even more tragically – our Church) has become. We’ve become so entrenched in our political identities that we’ve lost sight of who we are\, especially who we are as sisters and brothers in Christ. In an attempt to heal ourselves and our community from these dehumanizing and demonizing behaviors\, the Respect Life and Catholic Social Action offices are partnering with Braver Angels to offer a series of three on-line workshops during the election season. \nAnd finally\, on Thursday Nov. 10 (two days after Election Day and just two weeks before Thanksgiving)\, we’ll offer ‘Families and Politics’\, a workshop that shows how we can talk about politics with our loved ones in a way that brings us closer together – not pulls us farther apart. \nYou can register at the links listed above\, and you can attend one\, two\, or all three of the sessions. All workshops will start at 6:30pm\, are offered free of charge\, and will be offered virtually. \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to Andrew Musgrave. We look forward to meeting\, praying\, and working with you for a more compassionate world.

\nOn Thursday October 20\, we’ll over ‘Skills for Bridging the Divide’\, a workshop to help you through difficult political conversations with people in your life\, considering how to talk across the divide in a constructive\, empathetic way.

SUMMARY:De-implementation: Making Space to Focus on What Works
DESCRIPTION:The workload of principals has increased over the last two decades and teachers are more stressed and anxious now than they were one year ago at the height of the pandemic (Education Week). Teachers and leaders are at risk of being spread too thin. \nIn this presentation\, Peter DeWitt will focus on de-implementation\, which is the abandoning of low value practices (van Bodegom-Vos L.). Tackling the challenge of overwork\, he will share the different forms de-implementation can take and when it makes sense to use a formalized process to lessen waste\, increase results\, and support major school improvement efforts. \nBy the end of this session participants will be able to: \n\nDefine de-implementation and low value practices and understand how our focus on control impacts our decision making\nDifferentiate between informal and formal de-implementation.\nEngage in the process of de-implementation.\n\nREGISTER NOW
