Grateful Disciples Cohort
A process to develop an annual stewardship plan for your Family of Parishes
“Families of Parishes are communities of grateful disciples. Recognizing God’s gifts, they use their talents, skills and resources to build up the Church and live as Christ’s Body in the world.” (Stewardship Principle)
Grateful Disciples is a process of formation and planning for stewardship core teams. Grateful Disciples begins with a foundational exploration of the vision of stewardship as a prayerful, living response to God’s grace in our lives. The process highlights six key steps in bringing this vision to life in the Family of Parishes and among parishioners.
WHO: The Grateful Disciples Cohort is a process for Family pastors, stewardship champions and/or core teams.
WHAT: The Cohort will progress through a step-by-step process in which teams may develop a stewardship plan for their Family of Parishes, with all the materials, guidance, and support necessary to establish and sustain stewardship as a way of life.
WHEN: An in-person orientation, followed by four online meetings. The specific day of the week and time of meeting will be determined by participating teams.
HOW: Stewardship champions and core teams meet online for a facilitated process that includes content, materials, opportunities to share questions and experiences and receive feedback. Participants will have access to samples, templates, videos, and worksheet masters for use as they create their customized Family stewardship plan.
Facilitator: The Grateful Disciples process will be facilitated by Leisa Anslinger, a widely known speaker and author in the areas of parish life and Christian stewardship. We are excited to have Leisa share her knowledge and wisdom on stewardship and help Families of Parishes work through the Grateful Disciples.
A new cohort will begin on November 19, 2024 with a start-up meeting at St. John the Evangelist, West Chester, OH, 6-8 p.m.
