Position Summary:
The Coordinator of St. X BOLD (Belonging, Opportunity, Learning, Dignity) is responsible for providing collaboration, support, and coordination for the programs, initiatives, and daily operations of the Office of St. X BOLD. Under the direction of the Director of St. X BOLD, the Coordinator will oversee and support student engagement initiatives, including Hands Across Campus (HAC), and affinity groups such as the Asian Pacific Alliance (APA), Black Student Union (BSU), Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement (H.O.L.A.), and Muslim Student Association (MSA).
The Coordinator will collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to foster a culture of belonging, opportunity, learning, and dignity throughout the school community. The Coordinator will also lead and coordinate Cultural Heritage Month programming efforts in partnership with Student Activities, affinity groups, academic departments, and other internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, the Coordinator will work closely with Campus Ministry, Community Service, Student Services, and Admissions to support student success, engagement, well-being, and access to opportunities throughout their St. Xavier experience. The Coordinator will assist with the planning, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the Companion Scholars Program during both the academic year and the summer, supporting recruitment, programming, student engagement, and family communication efforts as needed.
The Coordinator will coordinate meetings, events, scheduling, and educational displays related to cultural programming and community engagement. This position plays a vital role in advancing the school’s Mission, Vision, and Values while supporting initiatives that promote meaningful learning, authentic belonging, and respect for the dignity of every person.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides execution and oversight of all meetings, activities and affinity groups associated with St. X BOLD.   
  • Coordinate all internal and external elements of events and meetings including speakers, food, etc.  
  • Assist with the coordination of the Companion Scholars Program for the academic year and the 3 week summer experience.
  • Assist in coordinating major events including the Dr. MLK school wide assembly, HBCU College Fair, Freshman Family Welcome and other St. X BOLD special events.  
  • Develop and coordinate a cultural heritage programming model in collaboration with campus partners and affinity groups.
  • Develop annual St. X BOLD calendar of events and ensure they are distributed to the communications department and other stakeholders.  
  • Attend collaborative meetings with student services, campus ministry, community service and student activities.
  • Maintain active databases for underrepresented students and families for internal and external communication.
  • Work with Director of St. X BOLD to develop DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) trainings and education for students, staff, and faculty.
Skills and Other Required Competencies:
  • High level of organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to connect with a diverse array of audiences 
  • Working knowledge of DEI and the constant evolution of the industry        
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)  
  • Experience developing, managing, and monitoring departmental or program budgets while ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources.
  • Should have excellent communication skill sets, both written and orally.  
  • Must be able to manage and handle various projects, tasks, processes at the same time and prioritize (multi-tasking).  
  • Must have fundamental DEI knowledge and some formal core competency training and experiences  
  • Conducts oneself ethically and morally.  
  • Strategic collaborator and ability to work well with various teams 
  • Must be able to problem solve and have a proven track record for successful outcomes.  
  • Project management and forecasting experience 
Education, Experience, and Qualifications: 
  • BS, BA, or other related college degree preferred.  
  • At least 3 years of coordination, planning and execution experience   
  • At least 3 years of diversity, or HR related experience
  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred (both written and verbal).
