Database and Help Desk Technician/Full-Time Exempt: The primary duties of the Database and Help Desk Technician are to maintain and update the school’s Student Information System (SIS) and assist students and staff with routine technology issues.  This includes but is not limited to database maintenance, data entry, importing, creating and generating reports/files, testing software, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors in related field with three years of school information systems experience is preferred.  Additional experience may substitute for formal education.

– Sustained excellence in the Performance of Competencies for McNicholas Administrators and Staff Members
– Accomplished with School Information Systems (SIS).  Experience with Rediker or SchoolAdmin software is a plus
– Proficiency with standard office productivity software such as MS Outlook, Word and Excel
– Ability to accomplish/complete a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved
– Aptitude to accurately and efficiently enter information into the database and extract useful reports from a database
– Knowledge of high school admissions and business operations
– Experience in maintaining confidentiality of information
– Ability to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds and provide excellent customer service to staff and others
– Capability to think clearly and process information effectively to solve problems and make decisions related to work tasks and the office environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Records
– Enter/update/validate confidential current student data into SIS (Rediker)
– Import of Admissions enrollment database to SIS (Rediker) including matching and validating database fields
– Import student activity data from Formstack or other sources to SIS (Rediker) and Admissions database (School/Admin)
– Write/update queries for reports as needs arise
– Generate contact information reports/files for school email communications regularly
– Generate system emails to parents for SIS data updating/correcting as needed
– Process/generate reports/files/mailing labels and other materials for distribution to school
– Verify accuracy of output report/files
– Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to SIS data, processes, and functions
– Perform end of year processing
– Perform additional tasks and projects related to the administration of our students information system
Student Reenrollment (typically January through March)
– Prepare and issue reenrollment information to current students for the new year
– Validate parent portal information and access
– Clearly communicate reenrollment instructions to parents
– Monitor reenrollment and follow up with parents as necessary
Help Technician Desk
– Perform routine workstation maintenance and troubleshooting
– Assist students and staff concerning the basic use of hardware and software
– Process and monitor repair tickets
Advancement/Development
– Create export of alumni contact information for import to Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge
– Collaborate with Development to update/import/validate confidential donor data into Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge from various sources
