Position Summary

Corryville Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve in an elementary classroom from August 2026 through early October 2026. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, maintain continuity of learning, foster a positive classroom environment, and support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth during the teacher’s leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed educator, recent graduate, retired teacher, or aspiring educator seeking meaningful classroom experience in a supportive school community.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction aligned with school curriculum and provided lesson plans.
• Create and maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student success.
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide feedback as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, intervention staff, and administration.
• Communicate professionally with families regarding classroom updates and student needs.
• Support school-wide expectations, routines, and Catholic values.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

Preferred

• Valid Ohio Teaching License.
• Previous elementary teaching or substitute teaching experience.
• Experience working in diverse educational settings.
• Familiarity with evidence-based literacy and mathematics instructional practices.
• Support for the mission and values of Catholic education.
