The St. Gabriel Family of Parishes is looking for a full or part time director of music to oversee music at all five churches in the family of parishes as well as serve as music director at St. Peter Catholic Church in Huber Heights. Primary responsibilities include planning and providing music for 3 weekend Masses at St. Peter, school Masses, Holy days, weddings, funerals, and other liturgical services as needed. The ideal candidate should be proficient in piano, organ, voice, choral teaching/conducting skills, and Catholic liturgy, as well as have a desire for serving, growing, and uniting the faith community through liturgy and music. A bachelor’s degree in music is preferred, but not required.

Requirements:

• BA or equivalent in Music (recommended)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Catholic liturgical music
• Practicing Catholic
• Knowledge of the role of music in Catholic liturgy
• Competent at leading liturgical music on piano and/or organ, and as a choral music director
• Collaborative team member with other staff members and music directors from other churches within the family of parishes
• Experience leading traditional church choir, children’s choir, contemporary music ensemble, etc.
