Holy Angels Preschool is seeking a faith-filled, enthusiastic, creative, and responsible Preschool Lead Teacher to foster a joyful, Christ-centered learning environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. The Preschool Lead Teacher plans and implements engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards while nurturing each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning.

As the lead teacher, this individual creates a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom that reflects the mission and values of Holy Angels Catholic School. The Preschool Lead Teacher serves as the primary liaison between the preschool program and families by building positive relationships, maintaining consistent communication, and partnering with parents to support each child’s growth and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

*Plan and implement developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans aligned with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards, research-based instructional practices, and Ohio Department of Children and Youth (ODCY) requirements.

*Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of each child.

*Supervise children at all times, including during classroom instruction, centers, transitions, meals, rest time, outdoor play, field trips, and other school activities.

*Complete all required developmental screenings, assessments, observations, documentation, and classroom records in accordance with ODCY and Holy Angels Preschool requirements.

*Ensure compliance with all Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and Holy Angels Catholic School policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and safety regulations.

*Collaborate effectively with assistant teachers, classroom aides, school staff, administration, and families to support student success and a positive school culture.

Requirements:

*Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Ohio teaching license or endorsement in Preschool (or higher). Candidates with an associate degree in an approved related field—including Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Human Ecology, Human Development, Child and Family Community Studies, Elementary Education, or Early Intervention—will also be considered in accordance with Ohio licensing requirements.

*Possess current required certifications and training or demonstrate the willingness to complete all required professional development and licensing requirements established by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

*Demonstrate the ability to engage, inspire, and positively guide young learners through developmentally appropriate instruction and positive behavior support.

*Exhibit professionalism, integrity, flexibility, and positive interpersonal skills while fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.

*Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and required licensure/certification.
