Position: Teacher, Leo H. Gerbes Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
St. Xavier High School, founded in 1831 and the oldest high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an all-male Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Society of Jesus. With an enrollment of more than 1,400 young men from three states and more than 100 grade schools, St. Xavier takes pride in having educated more than 21,000 living alumni in the Jesuit tradition.
St. Xavier High School is seeking a teacher for the Leo H. Gerbes Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This position will include teaching three different courses and working closely with the Chair of the Center to support the broader entrepreneurship and innovation program. Responsibilities will include mentoring students, supporting experiential learning opportunities, collaborating with faculty colleagues, engaging alumni and business partners, and assisting with events, competitions, and other program initiatives. Evening and weekend commitments are an expected part of the role.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Catholic education and a desire to work with a talented and motivated student population and faculty colleagues. The successful St. Xavier teacher is dedicated to the formation of the whole person, including academic growth, religious development, ethical leadership, and a commitment to serving others.
Competencies
· Understanding of educational theory and effective classroom practice
· Ability to manage multiple course preparations
· Demonstrated classroom management skills
· Proficiency with educational technology inside and outside the classroom
· Comfort with implementing real-world, experiential learning experiences
· Ability to mentor students through project-based and innovation-focused work
· Commitment to working with a diverse student body
· Strong collaborating with colleagues, alumni, community partners, and business leaders
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Experience with Jesuit education is desirable
Qualifications
· Ohio teaching certificate or permanent non-tax certificate
· Experience within the entrepreneurial ecosystem
· Successful teaching experience preferred
· Experience designing or supporting real-world, experiential learning preferred
