DESCRIPTION:The St. Charles Center in Carthagena is hosting the exhibit\, The Randolph Freedpeople: from Slavery to Settlement. The Archdiocesan Anti-Racism Task Force and partners are hosting a pilgrimage to view the exhibit\, as well visiting the Black cemetery at neighboring St. Aloysius Parish and celebrating mass (4pm). \nAnyone middle school and above is encouraged to attend\, and there will be light refreshments following mass where folks can continue the conversation.

DESCRIPTION:This Skills for Disagreeing Better is a free workshop with Braver Angels that helps participants understand the values and concerns of those who differ from them politically and teaches essential skills for communicating across differences and finding common ground. \nIn this polarized time\, we lack basic understanding of why people on the other political side hold their beliefs. We don’t see them as they see themselves–their core values and central concerns–but instead as we choose to see them. DESCRIPTION:Our communities are becoming divided\, where it is difficult to engage in conversation with those who hold differing political views. Part of the Our Eucharistic Mission in a Polarized World programming\, this workshop is for people of faith. Civil discourse begins in recognizing the image of God in our conversation partner. Since we are all children of God\, our approach should involve mutual respect. Respect\, not agreement\, is an essential key for a healthy discussion.
