SUMMARY:Back to School Checklist for Positive Media and Tech Use
DESCRIPTION:Back to school is the most wonderful time of the year! Educators are busy planning class goals for the year\, setting norms and expectations for classroom device use\, and supporting families with at-home tips and conversation starters. \nIn this edWebinar\, Sue Thotz and Jennifer Ehehalt from Common Sense Education will highlight what’s new from Common Sense. They will also share templates and routines to help you establish a positive culture of digital citizenship in your classroom now and throughout the school year. \nThis edWebinar will be of interest to elementary and middle school teachers and education technology leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation. \nAbout the Presenters \nSue Thotz is the senior program manager for Common Sense Education and co-founder of Equity in Action CA. SUMMARY:7 Strategies for Using Summer as a Springboard to a Successful Fall
DESCRIPTION:Join this edWebinar as we reimagine summer and how to use it as an indispensable launchpad for the next school year rather than a disconnected time to play catch-up from the previous year. We’ll share essential\, practical strategies from district leadership that teachers and administrators can use in their own communities.\n\nWhat would the first weeks of fall look like if summer school helped families establish confidence and feel supported? The untapped potential in summer school is an opportunity to build strong family-school partnerships\, conduct a soft launch of new processes\, tools\, and routines\, and pre-teach standards for the upcoming grade. It’s a time to lay the groundwork with families early to have a positive and effective start to the school year.\n\nThis edWebinar will be of interest to K-12 teachers\, school and district leaders\, and education technology leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.    Learn more

SUMMARY:Virtual Reality Is Transforming the Way Students Are Learning Complex STEM Concepts
DESCRIPTION:Attend this edWebinar to learn how virtual reality (VR) is revolutionizing the way students are learning complex concepts in science and math. You will discover how educators are able to bring lessons to life using VR\, improving student engagement and learning outcomes.\n\nThe presenters will discuss how VR is connecting learners with experiences\, from complex simulations to simple lab experiments. They will demonstrate how using VR’s immersive experiences promotes the connection between learner and concept\, inspiring greater inquiry. What if a student could virtually enter a plant\, become part of an ecosystem\, or feel a connection with the smallest particles that make up the basis of life? All this and more are possible with VR\, and you will be pleasantly surprised how easily it can be incorporated into your curriculum.\n\nThis edWebinar will be of interest to teachers\, education technology leaders\, and school and district leaders of the middle and high school grades. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation. Learn more.\n\n\n\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin a Professional Learning Community\n\nTechnology in Schools\nShare ideas\, examples\, and resources that relate to integrating technology effectively in schools. SUMMARY:Music Ministry Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Pastoral musicians from throughout our archdiocese have found it helpful to gather to discuss common concerns and challenges as well as share ideas and best practices. Our roundtable discussion will be held on two different dates and times in order to include as many musicians as possible. Come with your questions and comments\, ideas and solutions to share. No one understands the effect of this pandemic on music ministry more than our colleagues. Let’s talk.

SUMMARY:Dwell in the Word
DESCRIPTION:Scripture encourages us to let God’s Word dwell within us (Col. 3:16)\, but to do this\, we must learn to dwell in the Word. Even in this time of distance from our communal celebrations\, Lectors and Psalmists have the ability to renew their understanding and appreciation of God’s Word and improve their skills in proclaiming it. Let us use this time well. \nDwell in the Word\, a two-part video conference\, will lead Lectors and Psalmists to reflect on the Word of God\, its meaning and power\, its connection to the Eucharist\, and our role in the Word’s transformative work. \nSession One will encourage theological reflection on the Word of God and the ministry of proclamation. Session Two will focus on practical skills and techniques for effective and inspiring proclamation\, with breakouts specific to both Lectors and Psalmists. \nWe come together – in our dwelling places – to dwell in the Word. In so doing\, we pray that on the joyous day when we may gather again for worship\, the Word will dwell more richly in the Body of Christ.
