Hefner Museum of Natural History at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio will present Educator Inquiry Workshops on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
During these workshops, educators will explore object-based learning strategies, the power of incorporating real-world materials in their teaching, and the role museums can play in providing STEAM-based resources for the classroom setting. Two sessions will be offered.
Morning Session for
Educators Grades K-5
Time: 9am-12pm
Focus: Ephemeral Ponds, activities to immediately implement in the classroom and funding opportunities to obtain classroom resources
Afternoon Session for
Educators Grades 6-12
Time: 1pm-4pm
Focus: Microscopes and Nature, types of magnification devices to use in the classroom and funding opportunities to obtain classroom resources.
Project materials will be provided. Teacher Grab Bags will be offered with free materials (posters, teacher books, guides and more).
Light refreshments (no drinks) will be provided. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles. Hallway fountains are available.
