Choosing Books for Instruction

Choosing books for read alouds, mini-lessons, and small group instruction takes
time. This session will examine possibilities for books and how they might be used
in the classroom. We’ll also take a look at ways to slow down and examine a book
for all that is possible. Create a stack of anchor books that you can go back to
again and again as a helpful teaching tool.
