
Fall 2025 Gardner Lecture “Religion and the American Constitutional Experiment”
Lecture by Richard Garnett, J.D., Professor of Law at The University of Notre Dame Law School
Protecting religious freedom is critical for democratic order and constitutional rule of law. It is essential that the principles of religious freedom inherent in the First Amendment be respected and defended for a fair, free, and civil society. In his lecture, Professor Garnett will outline the history of religious liberty in America and discuss some recent and upcoming religious-freedom cases before the United States Supreme Court.
