Come away with a full plan, materials and a google drive of information ready to present to your students as a result of this workshop.
Developed by medical school staff at Case Western University in the 1950’s, Problem Based Learning originated as a way to solve medical issues. In recent years, Problem-Based Learning has evolved to be a unique way to engage higher level students by challenging them to creating solutions to revelant, real-world problems. Teachers in any discipline in grades 6-9 are encouraged to attend!
- Gain insight on the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning with gifted/high ability students.
- Create a series of Problem Based Learning scenarios tailored to your classroom standards and discuss with like-minded educators.
- Create a pacing guide for a problem based learning unit designed for your classroom, using techniques and materials presented in this course.
