Designing & Strengthening An Instructional Coaching Program

Participants of the Instructional Coaching Institute will learn how to build teacher capacity by understanding how to engage teachers in the coaching process, connect with school leadership goals, and increase student learning using a collaborative approach designed to be non-threatening and supportive of classroom teachers.

This one day workshop is for School Administrators and/or Instructional Coaches. Whether launching a new program or strengthening coaching, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate, plan for effective implementation, and design/re-design a program that addresses the following:

• Connecting School improvement and coaching
• Defining roles and responsibilities between the coach and principal
• Influencing school culture “readiness” for coaching
• Creating the infrastructure necessary to support coaching
• Examining planning, co-teaching, and de-briefing of coaching
• Exploring techniques, tactics, and strategies coaches use to effectively partner with teachers
• Recruiting and engaging teachers in coaching

This is a must attend institute for educators serious about elevating instructional coaching. The research is clear that people development, not programs, is critical to improving teaching and learning.
