Building the Foundation: Curriculum, Assessment, and Early Learning
Intentional teaching begins with a clear understanding of what young children need to learn and how we recognize their growth. During this session, participants will explore Project Ready, an early childhood curriculum developed by Mount St. Joseph University, and hear from Archdiocese of Cincinnati educators about their experiences implementing the program and the impact it has had on student learning. The morning will also focus on using assessment to inform instruction, including an introduction to the Archdiocesan Preschool Assessment and the PELI PreK literacy assessment. Together, these resources will help educators consider how curriculum and assessment can work hand-in-hand to guide purposeful planning, identify student needs, and support intentional instructional decisions.

Every Moment Matters: Intentional Teaching in the Preschool Classroom
In preschool, powerful learning happens throughout the entire day. This session will explore how teachers can intentionally plan, interact, question, model, and respond to children in ways that move learning forward. Participants will examine practical strategies for purposeful planning, small-group instruction, responsive teaching, and making the most of everyday learning opportunities.
