With back-to-school season approaching, teachers are preparing for a new group of students with a new range of math ability levels. The search is on for engaging tasks to revisit prior learning, as well as formative assessment options to determine students’ math strengths and needs. Formative assessment is rarely associated with fun, but what if we could gather assessment data during math games that are enjoyable and interactive? And, even better, what if the games prompt students to revisit previously learned skills and concepts at the start of a new school year? During this free webinar, we will explore the use of hands-on math games with manipulatives to revisit prior learning and gather information about students’ strengths and needs.
