St. Mary, Hyde Park, is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Music starting August 1, 2021.  St. Mary, Hyde Park has a growing and thriving music ministry, including adult and children’s choirs, a cantor program, a Steinway baby grand piano, and a newly rebuilt 3-manual, Schantz pipe organ (December 2019).  Primary responsibilities are to play piano/organ at the 4:00 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass as well as the Wednesday and Friday morning Masses (9:00 a.m.) with and without the school children, the Tuesday 5:45 p.m. Mass and Benediction (first Tuesday of the month), work with and train cantors from the school and parish, assist when needed for Holy Days, weddings, and funerals. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in music and/or experience in a parish liturgical music program, proficiency in piano, organ, and voice, a knowledge of liturgy and good pastoral skills. The successful candidate is a team person, working with all the staff members of the parish. Gate of Heaven Cemetery is seeking a full-time Cemetery Worker to perform responsible semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance, and care of its grounds, landscape and related structures. The main goal of this position is to keep the property in top condition, from a landscape and cleanliness point of view.

Employee will:

1. Have a good working knowledge of and be responsible for maintaining turf, trees, and all plant materials on the grounds as well as pest control, etc.
2. Be familiar with proper seeding, plantings, sodding, pruning, watering and fertilizing methods.
3. Be able to oversee and communicate effectively with employees, outside contractors and seasonal workers.
4. Be able to advise on plant materials suitable for the grounds, as well as design plantings and beds.
5. Take the lead on snow removal in the winter.
6. During slow work periods, assist in the day-to-day operation of the cemetery when asked by the Cemetery Services Supervisor/Superintendent.

Other duties may also include:

1. Prepare gravesites for interments and assists in loading/unloading caskets.
2. Repair graves that have settled.
3. Install markers, crypt, and niche plaques.
4. Operate mowing and trimming equipment used in the care and maintenance of the cemetery.
5. Remove flowers and related items from cemetery grounds as directed.
6. Work safely and comply with the Cemetery’s operating procedures, including proper use of protective equipment.
7. Effectively work with others to accomplish tasks.
8. Show respect and sensitivity toward visiting families while working in a physically demanding environment.
9. Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
2. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
3. Cemetery work experience is a plus.
4. Must be able to operate light duty, motorized equipment.
5. Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
6. Must be able to work as a team member.
7. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and visiting families.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be able to pass a background check/drug test.
2. Must be able to stay compliant with the Archdiocesan administered protection policy.
3. Periodic overtime and/or routine weekend work may be required.
4. Must have a valid driver’s license, required insurance coverage, and use of one’s personal automobile for local travel (mileage reimbursed).
Employment is contingent on successful completion of all background checks, drug tests, and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati protection policy requirements.

Holy Family, a multicultural catholic faith community in East Price Hill and South Fairmount is looking for a qualified candidate for the part-time, 28 hour per week(M,W,Th,F) position of parish secretary/receptionist.

Primary responsibilities are as follows:

Provide receptionist services for the parish office, answering phone calls and greeting/assisting parish visitors in a professional and friendly manner; provide secretarial and clerical services to the pastor, business manager, pastoral associate and key parish leaders; provide sacramental recordkeeping services for the parish; coordinate and schedule volunteers in the parish office; compile requests for bulletin articles and inserts; prepare and oversee distribution of weekly Sunday bulletin; prepare other publications as needed.

Qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

Effective written and verbal professional communicator (Bi-lingual), English/Spanish.  Working knowledge of and skill in using computers and office software programs, specifically Microsoft Office products (including Publisher), although additional training will be provided as needed; must be adept in creatively laying out copy for bulletin and other publications; must have ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Working knowledge of Gabriel software program is preferred but not required.

Scope of Position:  The Food Pantry Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions and operations of our Ted & Becky Catino Choice Food Pantry, as well as supporting the Cincinnati District Council’s pantry network. This role will provide leadership, vision, and guidance to our Council’s food assistance programs. This role also oversees logistics support to a variety of Outreach Center programs and events. The role is full time Monday-Friday (7:30am-4:00pm), with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Job Responsibilities:

Pantry Leadership: Oversee all aspects of pantry operations, consistent with SVDP mission, values, and expectations.

Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with key community and SVDP partners.

Record Keeping: Consistently collect and deliver accurate, timely data to best serve all stakeholders.

Logistics Support: Provide logistics support for other SVDP programs and events.

Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience managing a team and the ability to match the skills/preferences of team members with tasks that need to be accomplished
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, shift priorities as needed, and organize resources quickly around changing needs
  • Capacity to balance short term problem solving with an eye to long term sustainability
