Catholic Bearcat is looking for a committed individual with a passion for Christ’s mission to bring all people to Himself, particularly through a culture of love and accompaniment.  This position is well suited for someone with a warm and welcoming personality; with a desire to seek and cultivate relationships with students and walk with them in discipleship of Christ the Master; and who can work as a member of the Catholic Bearcat Team (Including SPO and FOCUS Missionaries) to effectively invite every member of the University of Cincinnati community to encounter, follow, and share Jesus Christ and His Church.

The Campus Minister is particularly entrusted with the logistics and organizational necessities of the ministry and assisting the chaplain in building a culture of love and truth that draws students into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Applicants should be capable of delegation and decision making, and of evaluating and admitting the success or failure points of all endeavors, for the sake of most effectively guiding souls to the Lord.  Experience working with FOCUS or SPO is highly valued.  Ideally, applicants are not strangers to the inherent difficulty and heartbreak of ministry, and who can serve with indomitability as a rock of hope and joy even through the challenges of ministry.

Assent to Church Teaching in all matters, as defined in the Catechism, is a baseline for application.  Some experience in teaching and explaining the faith is desired, but a passion for proclaiming the Gospel through relationship and kindness is necessary.  The Campus Minister must be willing and desirous to live Christ’s mission to seek and to save the lost, by inviting others to meet, know, love, and follow the Master, and teaching them how to make disciples of others.

The Campus Minister should expect to work odd or late hours on a student schedule, including Sundays and weeknights, and seasonally variable hours (heavy especially in August, September, and Easter, but lighter over the summer).
