Su Casa Hispanic Center’s academic enrichment summer camp, Vacaciones Útiles, is celebrating its 16th year serving low-income Hispanic/Latino children in Greater Cincinnati. The objective of the program is to close academic opportunity gaps for children entering kindergarten through third grade. This is achieved by providing a 6-week, full-day summer camp that encourages academic and social-emotional growth in a culturally sensitive, bilingual environment. The focus of instruction is English literacy and reading skills, which are the foundation for success in other academic subjects. We offer bilingual programming aimed at strengthening the core skills needed for success in the upcoming school year. Teachers offer instruction with guidance and support from the Education Services staff of Su Casa Hispanic Center; support registration and testing; chaperone field trips and outdoor activities to promote a love of learning and academic success for the children in our program. VÚ is the capstone of Su Casa’s Youth Education programs, which include after-school and virtual tutoring during the academic year.

St. John Fisher Catholic Church, part of the St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes, is looking for a qualified candidate for the part-time, 28 hour per week position of parish secretary/receptionist.
Primary responsibilities are as follows:
Provide receptionist services for the parish office, answering phone calls and greeting/assisting parish visitors in a professional and friendly manner, provide secretarial and clerical services to staff, provide bookkeeping/recordkeeping services for the parish, coordinate and schedule volunteers, prepare and oversee distribution of parish newsletter and other publications as needed, and assist Pastoral Associate in preparing for faith formation programs.
Qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
Working knowledge of and skill in using personal computers and office software programs, specifically Microsoft Office products; must be adept in creatively laying out copy for newsletter; must be organized and have the ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing; must have ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Knowledge of PDS program is preferred but not required.
