The Office of Life, Human Dignity and Charity in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is seeking an Associate Director for Respect Life Ministries. The Associate Director works with the Director to assist in creating and coordinating the respect life activities of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.  The Associate Director works in areas of education, pastoral care, public policy and prayer/worship, as outlined in the USCCB’s 2001 document, Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities:  A Campaign in Support of Life.

The Associate Director for Respect Life Ministries will oversee and help expand the Project Rachel post-abortion healing ministry, including networking with similar services by pregnancy care centers, and supervising the part-time coordinator;  assist in organization/coordination of annual March for Life trip; network with other respect life agencies on issues related to abortion, grief support, capital punishment, end of life care and disabilities, especially in the Dayton and Northern regions;  remain current on and advocate with local legislators for laws that support Catholic teaching on life issues; represent in a positive way in person and through electronic communication the Church’s teaching on respect life issues, especially through social media accounts;speak to adult and youth audiences on various respect life topics;represent the Archdiocese at respect life events; work collaboratively with the Director to create and publish the monthly Respect Life Newsletter, including design and composing content; work to establish regular healing opportunities for pregnancy loss and other bereavement issues; assist in editing and maintenance of the Respect Life and Project Rachel websites and help maintain the network for Respect Life Parish Coordinators, including informational trainings and opportunities for fellowship.

The Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is seeking a part-time Northern Area Coordinator in the Catholic Social Action Office. This is a 21-hour position which combines the coordination of ministerial duties to the northern part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati with a small amount of administrative assistant duties for the office.

The coordinator will assist in the Catholic Social Teaching formation and social ministry work in the St. Marys and Sidney Deaneries.  This position advances the Catholic Social Action Office’s mission to empower Catholics in the Archdiocese to celebrate and live out the Gospel call for life, human dignity, and care for God’s creation through Catholic Social Teaching formation, organized social ministries, and opportunities for public advocacy and action.

This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in office work and Catholic social justice ministry; understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and involvement in social justice issues; good phone and people skills, including an ability to relate well face-to-face with diverse constituencies; willingness to work as a team, both receiving direction and identifying solutions in a ministerial field; knowledge of modern office procedures and methods; knowledge of modern business communication; the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without constant supervision; the ability to handle and resolve recurring problems and attention to detail.

The St. Leonard Catholic Faith Community is seeking a part-time Music Director/Minister.

The Music Director/Minister will prepare music selections and conduct weekly Sunday morning choir rehearsals before Mass, as well as weeknight rehearsals as needed, particularly in preparation for Advent, Christmas, Triduum and Easter. She/he is also responsible to attend monthly meetings and participate as an active member of the Prayer and Worship Ministry. She/he should also accompany and direct music for all Community liturgies. This includes our weekly 10:30am Sunday celebrations, Triduum services, Holy days of obligation, Reconciliation services and all funerals (when available). The piano is our main instrument of use. We do have an organ but it is not used as much. Salary is negotiable.

St. John St. Saviour Parish is seeking a part time CRE. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, and well-organized candidate to serve our parish of 1000 families located in the Deer Park – Rossmoyne areas. This position is responsible for but are not limited to: managing the parish children’s religious education program, vacation bible school, and the sacramental preparation of Catholic school children. You will supervise and train catechetical staff and manage administrative functions in assigned areas of responsibilities. This requires good computer skills and familiarity with social media. Position requires an average of 25 hours per week. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and faithful to the Magisterium. A Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or Catechetics is preferable.

The Cemetery Escort serves as the face of the cemetery for committal services while escorting funeral processions from the Gate of Heaven Cemetery’s front gate to the appropriate location where the committal service is to occur and be available to the families, clergy and funeral directors for questions.

CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:

The Cemetery Escort is a part-time position that is compensated as a piece rate employee (paid per funeral procession escorted). Most processions occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm and Saturday between the hours of 10:00am and 12:30pm. Limited exceptions apply.

Candidate must have a warm personality and physical ability to traverse the cemetery grounds in all types of weather. Candidate must be capable of reading a cemetery map and ability to adapt quickly to changing situations. Candidate will be required to wear business attire, communicate with the office and grounds teams using an ear piece/radio, be willing to use their personal automobile for escorting the funeral processions onsite, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain appropriate coverage on automobile insurance policy. Cemetery Escorts are notified of work assignments at least 24-48 hours in advance.

  2. Coordinate with military personnel (if applicable).
  3. Be available to the family, clergy, and/or funeral director for questions.
  4. Collect any paperwork, including burial permits and checks from funeral directors.
  5. Remain at the gravesite/chapel until the completion of the committal service and family has departed.
