The Diocese of Covington’s Catholic Charities ministry is seeking to hire a Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Parish Kitchen community outreach program. For fifty-one years, the Parish Kitchen has been a beacon of hope, serving a free lunch to everyone who comes through our doors between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. This position is full time, nominally 5 days M-F from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Manager coordinates and manages on-site activities of the Parish Kitchen, including the deployment, coordination, and supervision of all staff and volunteers. S/he also oversees day-to-day activities in a way consistent with its mission, values, and personnel policies. The Manager is an advocate for those served, providing hospitality and offering assistance in collaboration with other social service ministries. Candidates should be practicing Roman Catholics with a background in social services and/or ministry. Core requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a human service or related field, and experience in food service operations and management.

The Safe Environment Office of the Diocese of Covington is seeking a self-starting individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment involving meticulous detail, regular follow-up, and regular puzzle solving. The position of Safe Environment Database Coordinator and Virtus Administrator requires skills in database management, a solid understanding of security and integrity of personal data, and keen communication and problem-solving skills. Duties include maintaining the diocesan Virtus database; “help desk” responsibility to all users; updating forms and training materials; training parish and other local Virtus coordinators; submitting background check requests and then vetting the returned reports; preparing for the yearly audit of Safe Environment and Virtus; and providing support to the director of the Safe Environment Office as needed.

Must be 21 years old with at least 3 years of experience in licensed early childhood education; a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred. The Diocese of Covington Curia invites Catholics with significant ministry training and experience to consider putting their leadership skills into service to the Church by submitting their candidacy for the new position of Secretary for Pastoral Ministry. A Diocesan reconfiguration of responsibility areas will position this individual to organize and lead the diocesan focus on the broad areas of evangelization, faith formation, and catechesis while simultaneously providing vision, planning, and direction for the overall Secretariat by representing the Bishop and taking the leadership role in monitoring the work of its other ministries. Key responsibilities of the Secretary will include partnering with our P-12 schools, to drive and maintain greater Catholic identity; with our own Thomas More University, to deliver first-class, in-person faith formation across the diocese; and with diocesan parishes and Directors/Coordinators of Religious Education, to establish an advisory board to oversee the programs and then to lead this network. The Secretary will also manage the overall delivery and evaluation aspects of virtual faith formation through our Catechetical Institute, in partnership with the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Our minimum requirements for candidates include: completion of appropriate formal education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; prior Church ministry experience with a proven ability to both constructively supervise and work collaboratively with others; a solid, experiential understanding of hierarchy and structures in the Catholic Church; creativity and innovation; visionary strategic thinking; and an empathetic approach.
