The Diocese of Covington is seeking an individual with the necessary professional training and background in finance and accounting to assume the role of Controller within the Diocesan Finance Office. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and has a broad responsibility to produce accurate financial information for Diocesan offices, officials, and entities, and to monitor financial controls that safeguard assets of the Diocese. Specific major duties include reconciliations, limited internal auditing, invoicing, supervision of cash disbursements and receipts, tax reporting forms, workers compensation, preparation of financial statements, preparation of work papers for annual audit, closing of the fiscal accounting year, supervision of accounting staff, verifications, and general accounting and software assistance. Candidate requirements include advanced training in accountancy (a CPA license is preferred) with at least five years of previous experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller, strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and precision in written and oral communications.

We require a motivated, personable self-starter who possesses practical maintenance and mechanical skills and abilities. Knowledge and/or experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical maintenance, painting, and general safety procedures are essential elements of the job. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Cathedral Basilica and its grounds, the Cathedral Rectory, and the Cathedral Parish offices. In addition, this individual will serve a very necessary role as an additional ambassador to the many visitors the Cathedral Basilica welcomes on a regular basis.

The current incumbent will continue in the role until a replacement is on board. St Therese Parish in Southgate, KY (www.sainttherese.ws) is looking for a part-time parish Music Director to lead our parish in worship. There is some flexibility in the nominal fifteen hours per-week schedule. This opportunity includes providing music for three weekend Masses, selecting music for services, directing parish choir, and working with the pastor for the overall enhancement of parish worship.
