Student Services Association/Full-Time: Working closely with the assistant principal, the Student Services Associate (formerly Operations Assistant) will oversee basic school operations, support scholars who need extra reading support, and will manage the afterschool program. This role will spend about a third of their time leading targeted small-group instruction for struggling readers to ensure they grow academically. This role will also have the unique position of strengthening current processes and culture within the school. This includes responsibilities pertaining to food service and event coordination. Additionally, this position will include management of the afterschool program and staff. The Student Services Associate will be prepared to serve as an in-house substitute teacher when needed. Hours for this role are typically 9:45am – 5:45pm.
The Student Services Associate will possess a high level of initiative and the ability to work on complex tasks and deliverables independently. The role will require a professional who is capable of balancing multiple projects and deadlines while also providing an appropriate level of responsiveness to unforeseen needs. The Student Services Associate must possess a commitment to partner with families, a dedication to serve all students, and a desire to seek and implement feedback.
Instructional Responsibilities:
– Lead targeted small group instruction and 1:1 instruction for struggling readers
– Participate in ongoing professional development
– Serve as a potential substitute teacher in grades PK – 7
Operational Responsibilities:
– Communicate and coordinate food delivery with meal provider
– Receive, stock, and rotate incoming and outgoing inventory
– Setup and breakdown food serving areas
– Oversee and support lunch service, including replenishing food and maintaining clean serving areas
– Organize and distribute snack
– Monitor student safety and behavior during lunch (with support of others)
– Organize school supplies for staff Inventory school curriculum
– Manage school uniform inventory and support students in uniform changes, as necessary
Afterschool Program Responsibilities:
– Oversee implementation of afterschool program that meets the academic, spiritual, and physical needs of scholars Internalize and abide by all OH Child Care laws, including maintaining documentation of compliance
– Maintain accurate attendance documentation
– Support the submission of afterschool paperwork
– Serve as the main point of contact for families interested in the afterschool program
Event Coordination Responsibilities:
– Collaborate on event details and execution (ex. field trips)
– Assist in creating social media posts and flyers
– Assist in arranging vendors and stakeholders
– Co-manage events and address potential problems as they arise
– Participate in event debriefs
