Friendly, outgoing individual needed for part-time (two weeknights and one weekend day) receptionist/secretarial position in the Parish Office. Duties include operation of multi-line phone system, administrative support for the Parish Office operations, record keeping, and computer data entry. Ideal candidate will be a multi-tasker and self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with others. Candidates must have Microsoft skills, proficient keyboarding skills, ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters, ability to relate to a variety of persons, and knowledge of the Catholic faith. Having familiarity with PDS software a plus. 13-14 hours a week.

Primary Function: The Director of Adult Ministry is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation adult retreats included but not limited to men and women conference retreats, Personally Directed Retreats and 30-day retreats.  

Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Develop a yearly comprehensive adult retreat program in collaboration with the Ministry Team
  2. Develop and maintain yearly retreat calendar
  3. Secure retreat masters, spiritual directors, and sacramental ministers for adult retreats
  4. Coordinate set up, breakdown of adult retreats
  5. Serve as liturgist and coordinate musician for adult retreats
  6. Be available for spiritual conversation/direction
  7. Consult, communicate, collaborate, and train retreat captains.
  8. Be present during the adult retreats
  9. Consult, communicate, collaborate, and review marketing materials with Marketing Director
  10. Cultivate relationships with key constituents, e.g., pastors, retreat masters, captains,
    co-captains
  11. Responsible for retreat evaluations and implement appropriate changes
  12. Develop and maintain department budget
  13. Participate in ministry & staff meetings
  14. Develop short-term and long-term goals
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:

  1. Practicing Catholic
  2. Understanding of Ignatian Spirituality, Spiritual Direction, and the Society of Jesus
  3. Knowledge and understanding of adult pedagogy
  4. Experience in retreat ministry
  5. Pastoral skills in working with others
  6. Effective writing and communication skills
  7. Good organization skills
  8. Effective public speaking
  9. Collaborative management style
  10. Ability to work with diverse populations
  11. Ability to practice flexibility
  12. Maintains confidentiality
  13. Knowledge and understanding of non-profit, zero balanced budget
  14. Bachelor’s degree in related field
  15. Self-motivated and ability to work with others
