The Department of Pastoral Services of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is seeking an Associate Director of the Mission Office. This position works under the direction of the Director of the Mission Office and, in the absence of the Director, assumes some of the duties, excluding financial, MCP (Missionary Co-op Plan) and personnel issues.

The Associate Director of the Mission Office encourages Catholics to engage in supporting mission activity through prayer, service, and fundraising/material support by providing promotion and communications for all activities of the office. Additionally, this position raises awareness and relevance of Catholic mission activity – global and local – within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

The Associate Director should possess a bachelor’s degree in theology, education or a related field and be willing to do further studies in current missiology. Experience in fundraising, promotion, and communications (including social media) is required. The ideal candidate should have experience in mission or mission immersion trips; must be an active Catholic with strong commitment to and understanding of the post Vatican II church; must possess demonstrated ability in educational, management and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated oral and written communication skills; and must have working knowledge of computers, social media and website management.

Gate of Heaven Cemetery is seeking a full-time Cemetery Worker to perform responsible semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance, and care of its grounds, landscape and related structures. The main goal of this position is to keep the property in top condition, from a landscape and cleanliness point of view.

Employee will:

1. Have a good working knowledge of and be responsible for maintaining turf, trees, and all plant materials on the grounds as well as pest control, etc.
2. Be familiar with proper seeding, plantings, sodding, pruning, watering and fertilizing methods.
3. Be able to oversee and communicate effectively with employees, outside contractors and seasonal workers.
4. Be able to advise on plant materials suitable for the grounds, as well as design plantings and beds.
5. Take the lead on snow removal in the winter.
6. During slow work periods, assist in the day-to-day operation of the cemetery when asked by the Cemetery Services Supervisor/Superintendent.

Other duties may also include:

1. Prepare gravesites for interments and assists in loading/unloading caskets.
2. Repair graves that have settled.
3. Install markers, crypt, and niche plaques.
4. Operate mowing and trimming equipment used in the care and maintenance of the cemetery.
5. Remove flowers and related items from cemetery grounds as directed.
6. Work safely and comply with the Cemetery’s operating procedures, including proper use of protective equipment.
7. Effectively work with others to accomplish tasks.
8. Show respect and sensitivity toward visiting families while working in a physically demanding environment.
9. Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
2. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
3. Cemetery work experience is a plus.
4. Must be able to operate light duty, motorized equipment.
5. Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
6. Must be able to work as a team member.
7. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and visiting families.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be able to pass a background check/drug test.
2. Must be able to stay compliant with the Archdiocesan administered protection policy.
3. Periodic overtime and/or routine weekend work may be required.
4. Must have a valid driver’s license, required insurance coverage, and use of one’s personal automobile for local travel (mileage reimbursed).

Catholic Charities Southwest Ohio is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Bilingual Case Worker—Emergency Assistance Services for Su Casa Hispanic Center.

This position will assist Hispanic/Latino individuals, children, and families from low-income backgrounds connect with and gain access to all available benefits, employment, school enrollment, and financial assistance. The case worker will assist individuals and families in situational challenges present due to poverty, immigration status, language/cultural barriers, and navigating different systems in the community. The Bilingual case worker will serve as the first point of contact for clients and refer clients either internally or externally for additional services.

This position is based out of our Mid Pointe office located at 7162 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45237. Normal working schedule is Monday-Friday, 37. 5 hours per week, non-exempt, and reports to the Case Management Supervisor – Su Casa Hispanic Center.

Essential Job Functions:

Become familiar with social programs, healthcare, and educational services available to the Hispanic/ Latino community in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Provide emergency assistance services to individuals and families such as: information and referrals, sight translation of documents such as bills, notary services, Medicaid applications, Job and Family Services applications for food and financial assistance, school enrollment for children, passport applications and deportation safety planning, assist with police reports, and advocate for survivors of intimate partner violence.
Assist individuals with job readiness training and employment search.
Assist in the planning and execution of MARCC ID Drives.
Represent Su Casa at various agency and community partner events, including presentations on Su Casa services and other topics relevant to the work of Su Casa Hispanic Center and Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio.
Document services in the appropriate format for internal and external requirements.
Formulate reports as requested by immediate supervisor.
Other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field, or equivalent years of directly related work experience.
Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English
Intermediate level of computer skills
Valid notary license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is accepting applications for the full-time position of Director of Communications for Campus Ministry at Wright State University.

Catholic Campus Ministry at Wright State University is committed to inviting every member of the Wright State Community to encounter, follow, and share Jesus Christ and His Church. The Director of Communications will be responsible for pursuing this mission using video and print media, within the vision of the Director of Campus Ministry at Wright State University.

The Director of Communications will be responsible for building and maintaining an attractive and inviting outreach to students on campus, using livestreaming, promotional videos and trailers, catechetical videos, newsletters for the chapel community, social media, and the ministry’s website. The Director of Communications will work to promote the various series, events, and programs of the chapel, and will work alongside FOCUS missionaries, other chapel staff, and students in augmenting the ministry of the chapel. Applicants should be able to work within a vision set by the Director of Campus Ministry, but also to operate with great initiative and innovation, imitating other successful programs and developing new strategies to best accomplish the Gospel mandate to make disciples within this vineyard of Wright State University.

The Director of Communications will be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Applicants are expected to have basic equipment for the position, and to be able to guide the Director of Campus Ministry to purchase additional equipment on a limited budget.

Applicants are requested to submit a cover letter, resume, application, and a portfolio (ideally via link) of any print, video or digital creative the applicant has produced, including a video demo reel.
