Saint Francis of Assisi and Incarnation Parishes in Centerville Ohio are fast growing parishes with talented and energetic volunteers and staff serving approximately 4,000 families. We are seeking an Associate Director of Youth Evangelization (9th-12th Grades). This position is full-time with a regular but flexible schedule, working 40+ hours per week. The Associate Director of Youth Evangelization will serve as a member of pastoral staff and is responsible for High School Youth Evangelization, including mission trips, retreats, weekly gatherings, Confirmation preparation and formation, and other faith formation efforts at Saint Francis of Assisi and Incarnation Parishes. The definitive aim of such evangelization and discipleship is to put people not only in touch, but in communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to equip high school youth and their families to encounter Jesus Christ through a lifelong process that encourages them to become missionary disciples in the world.  The Associate Director of Youth Evangelization is a person who is a fully initiated and practicing member of the Catholic Church. A degree in Theology or Catholic Studies is preferred along with experience in leading and implementing religious education programs. Gate of Heaven Cemetery is seeking a full-time Cemetery Worker/Operator to perform responsible semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance, and care of its grounds, landscape and related structures.

Duties of this position may include:

1. Running a backhoe and coordinating the grave crew. Must have experience in digging graves.
2. Prepares gravesites for interments and assists in loading/unloading caskets.
3. Repairs graves that have settled.
4. Install markers, crypt, and niche plaques.
5. Removes flowers and related items from cemetery grounds as directed.
6. Works safely and complies with the Cemetery’s operating procedures, including proper use of protective equipment.
7. Effectively works with others to accomplish tasks.
8. Shows respect and sensitivity toward visiting families while working in a physically demanding environment.
9. Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
2. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
3. Cemetery work experience is a plus.
4. Must be able to operate light duty, motorized equipment.
5. Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
6. Must be able to work as a team member.
7. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and visiting families.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be able to pass a background check/drug test.
2. Must be able to stay compliant with the Archdiocesan administered protection policy.
3. Periodic overtime and/or routine weekend work may be required.
4. Must have a valid driver’s license, required insurance coverage, and use of one’s personal automobile for local travel (mileage reimbursed).

Employment is contingent on successful completion of all background checks, drug tests, and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati protection policy requirements.

Uptown Catholic Parish Region is seeking a Parish Office Assistant

The Parish Assistant is responsible for various duties involving both administrative and accounting facets of the region. Below is a short, but not comprehensive, list:

  • Receives and places telephone calls, schedules appointments
  • Manages parish records and schedules intentions for Masses
  • Manages venue reservations and keys for the region
  • Performs significant amounts of data entry
  • Manages records retention and production
  • Assists with bookkeeping procedures

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, organizational abilities and be adept in Excel and comfortable with learning a variety of database and website applications. Some experience in basic accounting concepts is preferred.

Reporting directly to the Bishop, the COO will not only have responsibility for the strategic, programmatic, and administrative management of the offices of the curia, but will also assist the Bishop with the development and implementation of his vision for our local Church. The COO will provide strategic vision and leadership as a core thought partner for the Bishop, supporting him in making significant decisions by leading the analysis, criteria-setting, option evaluation, and input gathering for these decisions. The COO will be a faith-filled, actively-practicing Catholic with a solid understanding of Church life and relationships, as well as demonstrated strong skills in strategy and analysis, change management, outcome-focused priority- and goal-setting, teamwork and collaboration, consensus-building, organizational management, and communication. S/he will have a minimum of ten years of senior leadership experience, with at least a graduate-level degree in an appropriate area. Significant ministry formation and experience would be helpful.

Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology seeks a full-time, experienced bookkeeper. This person works in collaboration with the CFO and President of the institution in facilitating the day-to-day operations of the seminary and school of theology programs and the departments in support of the overall mission of the institution. The person filling this position must have minimum of 2 years practical experience with keeping accounts and ledger entries in fulfillment of the following areas of responsibility:

Areas of Responsibility

  • Accounts payable: invoicing, check preparation and mailing
  • Accounts receivable: billing, collection, recording and reconciliation
  • Deposits
  • Journal entries, monthly closing entries, and reconciliation
  • Assist with Payroll
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Maintain files of the above.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Familiarity with accounting software (Passport, Quickbooks,….)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to effectively manage work flow and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
