St. John St. Saviour Parish is seeking a part time CRE. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, and well-organized candidate to serve our parish of 1000 families located in the Deer Park – Rossmoyne areas. This position is responsible for but are not limited to: managing the parish children’s religious education program, vacation bible school, and the sacramental preparation of Catholic school children. You will supervise and train catechetical staff and manage administrative functions in assigned areas of responsibilities. This requires good computer skills and familiarity with social media. Position requires an average of 25 hours per week. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and faithful to the Magisterium. A Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or Catechetics is preferable.

The Cemetery Escort serves as the face of the cemetery for committal services while escorting funeral processions from the Gate of Heaven Cemetery’s front gate to the appropriate location where the committal service is to occur and be available to the families, clergy and funeral directors for questions.

CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:

The Cemetery Escort is a part-time position that is compensated as a piece rate employee (paid per funeral procession escorted). Most processions occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm and Saturday between the hours of 10:00am and 12:30pm. Limited exceptions apply.

Candidate must have a warm personality and physical ability to traverse the cemetery grounds in all types of weather. Candidate must be capable of reading a cemetery map and ability to adapt quickly to changing situations. Candidate will be required to wear business attire, communicate with the office and grounds teams using an ear piece/radio, be willing to use their personal automobile for escorting the funeral processions onsite, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain appropriate coverage on automobile insurance policy. Cemetery Escorts are notified of work assignments at least 24-48 hours in advance.

Employees will have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based agency and adhere to the policies. Employees will not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic faith nor publicly advocate for any position in conflict with Catholic teaching, or the specific positions of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati or the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This requirement includes any public speech, demonstration or writing, including the use of social media or other digital technologies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead and park procession at gravesite/chapel.
  2. Coordinate with military personnel (if applicable).
  3. Be available to the family, clergy, and/or funeral director for questions.
  4. Collect any paperwork, including burial permits and checks from funeral directors.
  5. Remain at the gravesite/chapel until the completion of the committal service and family has departed.

The Community of the Good Shepherd located at 8815 E. Kemper Road is looking for a part-time Coordinator of Outreach Ministries. The Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between the parish and the archdiocesan Social Action and Mission Office, and other congregations on areas related to service and social action.
  • Respond to requests from individuals and organizations inside and outside the parish seeking material and financial donations.
  • Responsible for the coordination of an overall outreach calendar and the development/discerning of prospective new outreach ministries and/or events.
  • Coordinate and support the outreach ministries ensuring that they have the essential ingredients to be successful, e.g., the right information, encouragement, budget.
  • Communicate outreach needs in relation to natural disasters and other emergency conditions to provide timely assistance to those in need.
  • Collaborate with the department director in coordinating large and complex outreach related projects.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the various outreach ministries of the parish.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Earth Shepherds group, Sanctity of Life Ministry, and prison ministry.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments as needed.
  • Publicize and promote existing outreach ministries.
  • Recruit, empower, motivate and support volunteers.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a High School diploma is required.
  • Motivated for charitable service to others.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting with a large pastoral, administrative, and support staff.
  • Above average familiarity of the Catholic faith as it relates to “Catholic Social Teaching” along with familiarity with the local and national organizations serving in this area.
  • Must have ability to present oneself in a Christian and mature manner.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  •  Ability to deal with conflict and controversial subjects.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  •  High level of independent thought and initiative.
  •  Must be dependable and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Working Environment

  • Total of 20 hours per week. Must have the ability to prioritize and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Queen of the Apostles Church, a Marianist community, has an immediate opening for a part time Religious Education Coordinator. This position will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating all activities relating to preparation and provision of religious education (RE), sacramental preparation and youth ministry coordination of the children of the Queen of Apostles Community in Beavercreek, OH. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships among staff, parishioners, diocese and local community. Communicates parish events using electronic and print media, paying close attention to parish culture and vision, as well as church teaching.
  • Works closely with parish staff and ministry leaders to understand the goals of each parish department and ministry.
  • Create and manage graphics and content for all social channels, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, etc., in compliance with parish and diocesan guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

St. Mary, Hyde Park, is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Music starting August 1, 2021.  St. Mary, Hyde Park has a growing and thriving music ministry, including adult and children’s choirs, a cantor program, a Steinway baby grand piano, and a newly rebuilt 3-manual, Schantz pipe organ (December 2019).  Primary responsibilities are to play piano/organ at the 4:00 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass as well as the Wednesday and Friday morning Masses (9:00 a.m.) with and without the school children, the Tuesday 5:45 p.m. Mass and Benediction (first Tuesday of the month), work with and train cantors from the school and parish, assist when needed for Holy Days, weddings, and funerals. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in music and/or experience in a parish liturgical music program, proficiency in piano, organ, and voice, a knowledge of liturgy and good pastoral skills.
