Due to an upcoming retirement and the creation of a new position, the Kettering Catholic Community is seeking to fill two Pastoral Associate positions.  While a spirit of cooperation and awareness of each locations’ ministries within our parish family is needed, one position will be based at Ascension and the other at St. Albert the Great. A colleague is in place at St. Charles.

The primary responsibilities are to provide leadership and administration in specific areas of parish life and to enable others in ministry.  There are three areas of primary responsibility, (Liturgical, Pastoral Care & Clergy Assistance), the needs of the parish may require taking on other tasks as necessary.  Serves as professional member of the Family of Parishes Staff.  While based at a particular location, awareness of and cooperation with ministries at other locations required.  All work is done in conjunction with applicable Church guidelines and documents.

The Pastoral Associate will be a key member of the parish staff.  Position is full-time with competitive compensation and full benefits.  Prefer degree or certification from Catholic institution of higher learning.  The qualifying credentials can be met in a variety of ways including level of formal education, private study level and prior experience.  Practicing Catholic in good standing required.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains is seeking to fill a part-time position to clean the priest residence.  The rectory residence has 3 living suites.

Weekly cleaning tasks include the following:

  • Stripping and changing bed linens in the 3 suites. Linens are cleaned by the cathedral basilica laundress.
  • Cleaning bathrooms and changing towels in the bathrooms in each of the 3 suites. Bath towels are cleaned by the cathedral basilica laundress.
  • Empty trash cans.
  • Vacuum floors in the suites, hallways, shared den space and shared dining room.
  • Vacuum guest access elevator.
  • Mopping kitchen floor.
  • Dusting the furniture in the suites, shared den space and shared dining room.
  • Dusting bookshelves in the suites.
  • Dusting pictures in the suites, hallways and shared den and dining room.
  • As needed, change bed and bath linens and clean bathroom in guest bedrooms, if a guest is scheduled to stay at the cathedral basilica.

Work hours are flexible. Expected work is 6 to 8 hours per week.

The Northeast 3 Family of Parishes is seeking a practicing Catholic for a Coordinator of Communications position. This position is full-time with a regular but flexible schedule, working 40 hours per week. This position works on behalf of and supports the efforts of the Northeast 3 Family of Parishes and its ministries to develop and execute creative communication strategies and create seamless messaging across all communication mediums including: parish website, parish social media, print, email, graphic design, announcements, etc. — all while maintaining the “big picture” of the Catholic Church’s vision and mission. Position requirements: 1-3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. Bachelors preferred in Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Informatics, or related field (please see attached Job Description).

St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church is currently seeking applicants for a full-time (35 hours) Administrative Assistant.

The person in this role will provide administrative support to the finance, communications and facilities staff.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Expectations:

Education, Training and /or Experience:

  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish is preferred
  • High school graduate or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant and current experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative with a “can do” attitude to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

We are looking to hire temporary help to cover the parish office hours while the current secretary is on leave until June.  Training for this position will likely begin the end of February.  The hours will be Monday – Thursday 9am-4pm, however this may be negotiated. Some of the duties include answering the phones and helping those who come into the office,  preparing the weekly bulletin, keeping the parish grounds schedule and rentals schedule.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.
