Saint Francis of Assisi is a growing parish with talented and energetic volunteers and staff serving over 2000 families. We are seeking a Director of Religious Education (DRE).

This position is full-time with a regular but flexible schedule, working 40+ hours per week. The role of this position is to serve as a member of (and supervise) a pastoral team responsible for catechetical programs at St. Francis (including Christian formation, religious education and sacramental preparation) designed to lead adults, young adults, youth and children in the faith community to maturity of faith through instruction and formation in the Christian life.

The DRE is a person who is a fully initiated and practicing member of the Catholic Church. A degree in Theology or Catholic Studies is preferred along with experience in leading and implementing religious education programs.

The St. Leonard Catholic Faith Community is seeking a part-time Music Director/Minister.

The Music Director/Minister will prepare music selections and conduct weekly Sunday morning choir rehearsals before Mass, as well as weeknight rehearsals as needed, particularly in preparation for Advent, Christmas, Triduum and Easter. She/he is also responsible to attend monthly meetings and participate as an active member of the Prayer and Worship Ministry. She/he should also accompany and direct music for all Community liturgies. This includes our weekly 10:30am Sunday celebrations, Triduum services, Holy days of obligation, Reconciliation services and all funerals (when available). The piano is our main instrument of use. We do have an organ but it is not used as much. Salary is negotiable.

St. Michael Parish is currently seeking applicants for a part-time Parish Receptionist. Primary responsibilities include answering phone calls and greeting/assisting parish visitors in a professional and friendly manner; providing secretarial and clerical services to the pastor, business manager, and other Parish Office staff; and providing sacramental recordkeeping services for the parish.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational and computer skills. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office. Catholic candidate preferred.

The Parish secretary performs a variety of secretarial and administrative duties, which support overall parish operations. This includes maintaining the integrity of information and operating the office efficiently

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Professionally and courteously handle all office communications – phone, mail, email, social media platforms, etc.
  • Maintain membership database
  • Maintain sacramental recordkeeping for the parish

St. John St. Saviour Parish is seeking a part time CRE. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated, and well-organized candidate to serve our parish of 1000 families located in the Deer Park – Rossmoyne areas. This position is responsible for but are not limited to: managing the parish children’s religious education program, vacation bible school, and the sacramental preparation of Catholic school children. You will supervise and train catechetical staff and manage administrative functions in assigned areas of responsibilities. This requires good computer skills and familiarity with social media. Position requires an average of 25 hours per week. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and faithful to the Magisterium. A Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or Catechetics is preferable.

The Community of the Good Shepherd located at 8815 E. Kemper Road is looking for a part-time Coordinator of Outreach Ministries. The Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between the parish and the archdiocesan Social Action and Mission Office, and other congregations on areas related to service and social action.
  • Respond to requests from individuals and organizations inside and outside the parish seeking material and financial donations.
  • Responsible for the coordination of an overall outreach calendar and the development/discerning of prospective new outreach ministries and/or events.
  • Coordinate and support the outreach ministries ensuring that they have the essential ingredients to be successful, e.g., the right information, encouragement, budget.
  • Communicate outreach needs in relation to natural disasters and other emergency conditions to provide timely assistance to those in need.
  • Collaborate with the department director in coordinating large and complex outreach related projects.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the various outreach ministries of the parish.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Earth Shepherds group, Sanctity of Life Ministry, and prison ministry.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments as needed.
  • Publicize and promote existing outreach ministries.
  • Recruit, empower, motivate and support volunteers.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a High School diploma is required.
  • Motivated for charitable service to others.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting with a large pastoral, administrative, and support staff.
  • Above average familiarity of the Catholic faith as it relates to “Catholic Social Teaching” along with familiarity with the local and national organizations serving in this area.
  • Must have ability to present oneself in a Christian and mature manner.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  •  Ability to deal with conflict and controversial subjects.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  •  High level of independent thought and initiative.
  •  Must be dependable and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Working Environment

  • Total of 20 hours per week. Must have the ability to prioritize and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
