Grades 9-12: Director of Technology/Full-Time: The Director of Technology at Archbishop Alter High School is responsible for overseeing the management and strategic direction of the school’s IT operations.
Daily responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the school’s technology resources including, but not limited to student and faculty/staff computers, building copiers and printers, phone system, postage meter, academic and financial software and other needs as identified by the Administration
  • Coordinate the recommendation for and upgrade of networking servers, switches, and associated infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement new technologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the school’s operations.
  • Monitor the security of computer-based information and data processing systems to assure the integrity and reliability of computerized information and to ensure confidentiality of student, family, and employee information with an emphasis on proactively preventing cybersecurity breaches.
  • Coordinate the annual E-rate application
  • Represent the Technology Department on the Administrative Team and bring items for consideration/recommendation to team meetings
  • Provide input to the annual budget for technology needs for the upcoming year as well as plans for current and future software & hardware needs/upgrades
  • Coordinate and oversee the purchasing of technology needs via Auxiliary funds
  • Be a resource for faculty/staff and collaborate with them to identify and address technology-related challenges and opportunities.  Share information on computer hardware & software that is available and how it can enhance curriculum and administrative tasks.
  • Facilitate curriculum instruction by providing teachers access to data and current technology and its use as a teaching tool.
  • Learn of new technologies and opportunities through contacts with publishers’ representatives, professional organizations, reading of publications, and professional meetings.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems
  • Data analysis skills, problem solving, project management, leadership, and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
