Overview of Role
As an Extended Day Program Director, you will have the opportunity to oversee and execute all program logistics, ranging from the scheduling of different activities, supervision of staff involvement, curriculum practices, procurement of materials, building community partnerships and ensuring the ultimate success of the program.
The Extended Day Program Director should be an extremely organized and responsible individual. This individual will not only lead the curriculum but provide guidance to the children and other extended day staff and volunteers.
Core Responsibilities
Research and network with known best practice in extended day models
Research and secure grants to supplement funding
Prepare and administer a parent and student survey to gauge interest, barriers and opportunities in the program
Create routines and procedures to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the day
Prepare and oversee extended day budget
Interview, hire and evaluate staff
Secure volunteer and community support personnel and programming
Implement new curriculums across multiple classrooms
Organize, schedule, and lead activities and staff during extended day
Provide necessary professional development for staff to properly implement programming
Prepare and procure required materials for lesson plans
Guide extended day staff in the execution of lesson plans and activities
Ensure the overall success of extended day programming and create a sense of community!
Participate in regular training sessions and discussions with Corryville Catholic principal
Communicate and work closely with classroom teachers to support their students in the program and to be consistent in the flow from the school day to the afterschool program.
Be a supportive and positive leader!
Organize and collaborate with cafeteria manager to implement after school snack program
