The Holy Spirit Family of Parishes is seeking a musician to play the piano and/or organ at Our Lady of Mercy and Queen of Martyrs locations for Saturday 4:30 pm, Sunday 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses respectively. We are flexible with the time if you can do only one or two Masses.
This is a part-time position with 12 hours a week, including one day’s rehearsal at each location (excluding Holidays of obligation, Christmas, and Easter). Reports to the Coordinator of Worship.
The Musician will foster the active participation of the liturgical assembly in singing; coordinate the preparation of music to be sung at various liturgical celebrations; and promote the ministries of choirs, psalmists, cantors, organists, and all who play instruments that serve the Liturgy. Additional responsibilities include keeping the choir areas and music office in good order, arranging to keep the piano and organ in good working order, and working with the business manager to administer the annual budget (to include purchasing music, paying copyright fees, and securing permissions).
