The Holy Spirit Family of Parishes is seeking a musician to play the piano and/or organ at St. Benedict the Moor Church for the Saturday 4:00 pm and Sunday 10:30 am Masses. We prefer someone who can play Gospel music, and we are willing to help support anyone who is willing to learn it.
This is a part-time position with 6 hours a week, including one day’s rehearsal at each location (excluding Holidays of obligation, Christmas, and Easter). Reports to the Coordinator of Worship
The Musician/Conductor will foster the active participation of the liturgical assembly in singing; coordinate the preparation of music to be sung at various liturgical celebrations; and promote the ministries of choirs, psalmists, cantors, organists, and all who play instruments that serve the Liturgy. Additional responsibilities include keeping the choir areas and music office in good order, arranging to keep the piano and organ in good working order, and working with the business manager to administer the annual budget (to include purchasing music, paying copyright fees, and securing permissions).
