St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish is seeking candidates to apply for the position of COORDINATOR OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY.   

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, under the supervision of the Pastoral Associate for Evangelization and Catechesis.  The Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry aims to attract youth and young adults to a life-giving encounter with Jesus through personal witness, effective teaching, community building, and discipleship-making.  The coordinator will demonstrate a thorough understanding of John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, and be able to transmit it and the Church’s teachings in a way that is both richly informative and deeply transformative. 

Duties include, but not limited to:

· Recruit, train and mentor youth and young adult leaders, as well as core team volunteers, to implement the eight components of youth ministry as found in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry, USCCB, 1997
· Schedule, plan and lead weekly and seasonal youth and young adult events throughout the year
· Create, guide, and/or lead youth and young adult retreats
· Organize trips to local, diocesan, national and international youth and young adult events
· Submits, manages, and maintains a budget for youth and young adult ministry
· All other things deemed necessary by the pastor

Preferred Qualifications:

· Active member of a Catholic Parish
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, Theology, Religious Education, or related field
· Certificate in Youth Ministry from a diocese or National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders
· Previous, relevant experience

Candidate must hold a valid driver’s license (or be eligible for one).  Before starting the position, the coordinator must be fingerprinted, complete a background check, and be enrolled and/or current with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati SafeParish child protection training.

Ideal Qualities:

Due to a planned retirement in early 2023, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington, KY (www.covdio.org) seeks candidates for the position of Executive Director of its Catholic Charities ministry. As Christ “came not to be served, but to serve”, a primary focus of the social mission of the Church is mercy to the poor and the sick, works of charity, and mutual aid intended to relieve human needs of every kind. A key function of this position involves day-to-day oversight of twelve different areas of service, including: Parish Kitchen, which has operated seven-days-a-week since 1974 and serves up to 150 mid-day meals daily; Mobile Food Pantry, providing 20-40 food items per visit at no cost to eligible residents of five rural counties within diocesan boundaries; Jail and Prison Ministry, which strives to meet the spiritual needs of all who are impacted by the criminal justice process; Counseling, including individual, child, family and marriage, pregnancy, and school-based services; and St. Joseph Supportive Housing, providing housing, assistance, and intensive case management to eligible previously homeless families and individuals. The Executive Director’s role also involves supervision of and/or responsibility for twenty-two staff members and numerous regular and occasional volunteers; ongoing evaluation of current programs as well as potential new initiatives to address unmet needs; coordination and collaboration with other diocesan offices; and representing the Bishop of Covington and Catholic Charities throughout the diocese and the community at-large to develop relationships and support. The Northeast 3 Family of Parishes is seeking candidates for Associate Director of Youth, Adult, and Family Evangelization and Christian Formation to serve Sacred Heart (New Carlisle) and Mary Help of Christians (Fairborn) parishes. This position is full-time with a regular but flexible schedule, working 40+ hours per week. The Associate Director of Youth, Adult, and Family Evangelization and Christian Formation will serve as a member of the evangelization team for the Northeast 3 Family of Parishes. Ministry responsibilities include the following: evangelization and Christian formation with children, youth, adults and family, religious education and formation classes, Catechist recruitment and formation, family faith formation, weekly gatherings, coordination of first Eucharist, first Reconciliation, and Confirmation formation, and other faith formation efforts at Mary Help of Christians and Sacred Heart. The Program Coordinator supports the Director and other staff in executing programs, events, communications, and other initiatives to support pastors and parish leaders in building healthy and growing parishes. This role performs a variety of tasks including secretarial and administrative duties of the Parish Office, responsibility for the overall efficient operation of the office, administrates support of the Pastor’s responsibilities to the parish, and is a steward of the financial, physical, and personnel resources of the parish, as well as providing day-to-day operational support and fiscal oversight.
