Position Summary:

The Catholic Conference of Ohio, the official representative of the Catholic Church in matters of public policy, is seeking an Associate Director for Communications and Outreach to join a dedicated team working to address issues affecting the Church and the common good.
In collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff, the Associate Director will manage the Conference’s social media, website, and advocacy and outreach strategies designed to increase Catholic engagement with and awareness of state-level legislative priorities. These priorities include respect life, education, families, social and economic justice, religious liberty, and care for the environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement public relations and communications activities that promote the CCO’s mission to advocate on legislation and public policy of importance to the Catholic Church in Ohio
• Identify and create public relations and media opportunities to help raise awareness of CCO’s work and activities
• Assist the Executive Director in responding to media inquiries and draft press releases, statements, and op/eds
• Network with Diocesan Communications Directors to create opportunities that raise awareness of the Catholic Church’s mission in Ohio
• Oversee and manage social media platforms, website, and legislative advocacy network
• Collaborate with staff to develop education and advocacy strategies for legislative initiatives
• Assist in the coordination of events and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:
• Understanding of the Catholic Church and commitment to its teachings; willingness to contribute to the mission of the Catholic Conference as an interdiocesan agency serving the Catholic dioceses in Ohio
• Excellent written, verbal, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
• Ability and willingness to work both independently and collaboratively and to interact with individuals and groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, social media platforms, and website management
• Understanding of both state and federal government structures and the legislative process
• Bilingual in Spanish would be a plus

Education:
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Deanery Young Adult Missionary who will work as a member of the team in the Office of Young Adult and College Campus Ministry (YACCM). The Deanery Young Adult Missionary commits to forming lifelong missionary disciples of Jesus Christ in the Batesville Deanery of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The Deanery Young Adult Missionary accomplishes this by establishing intentional relationships with young adults (18-39) and equipping them for discipleship and mission. This position will work collaboratively with priests, parish staff and young adult leaders to drive a sustainable movement of evangelization designed to engage the disengaged, establish current leaders and strengthen parish life through outreach events, small groups, and one-on-one discipleship. The Deanery Young Adult Missionary models missionary discipleship through his or her Catholic faith. It is important to note that this is not another program or something to be involved in. This is a lifestyle of striving to be a saint and leading others to pursue holiness and joyfully witness to the great love of God in Jesus.

Position Purpose:

Oversees all aspects of the educational programs including ASPIRE, Hospital Worker Readiness Program, Workforce Supportive Services, Employment Retention, and Resource Navigation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • B.A. or higher required; minimum of 10 years’ experience in job related competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: creating docs, files, spreadsheets, entering and tracking program data
  • Experience in adult education, workforce development and community resources including a progressive understanding of cultural diversity and the pervasive impact of poverty.
  • An in-depth knowledge, experience with and sensitivity to the issues and concerns facing persons with barriers to employment, and employers regarding job development and placement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to foster and develop strong interpersonal and relational skills with program participants, agency staff/volunteers and employer partner team members.
  • Coach, mentor and supervise program participants and education department staff to maximize success

Principal Accountabilities and Weighting Criteria:

  1. Contribute to and oversee the strategic plan related to all programs in area of responsibility, assuring objectives are met in the designated time frame; serve on the Leadership Team.
  1. Lead the recruitment, interview, assessment and acceptance processes in order to choose appropriate candidates for the Hospital Worker Readiness Program (HWRP). Provide leadership for program development, evaluation and improvements to assure outcomes are achieved that meet or exceed community benchmarks.
  1. Coordinate with instructors, guest speakers and partner staff to create the program calendar to include: Health Care Core Curriculum, WorkKeys practice and exam sessions, Computer Training and Workforce Professional Development. Lead the orientation to the program, classroom instruction of the HCCC curriculum, learning activities, professional development and employment application content. Organize a graduation ceremony for the last day of class.
  1. Serve as liaison with Mercy Health and any other employer partners to facilitate transition into employment. Support job retention through problem-solving with hiring managers and new employees.
  1. Oversee Workforce Supports programs and serve as liaison with community partners and funding sources. Oversee Aspire program and serve as liaison with Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS).
  1. Work with Development Director to market programs to the target community population and recruit potential participants through local contacts such as agencies, churches, schools and hospitals.
  1. Direct all aspects of personnel management, including recruitment, screening selection, orientation, supervision, job coaching and corrective action in area of responsibility.
  1. Oversee date entry for all programs and creation of reports.
  1. Act as community representative and participate in appropriate community collaborations and networks related to programs.
  1. Contribute to policies/procedures and budgets for programs; track expenditures to assure budget objectives are met.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

St. Michael Parish and School is seeking a full-time Director of Communications.

The Director of Communication is responsible for the parish’s overall strategic plan for internal and external communications.  The Director will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of parish and school communication via email, social media (Facebook and Instagram primarily), website, parish app, weekly bulletin, and quarterly newsletter.   Particular attention will be necessary to the implementation of our Family of Parishes over the next several years; collaboration will be necessary with the staff of the other parishes.  The Director will work with our parish and school staff to create an effective overall presentation of the Gospel message in a way that will help draw the faithful and others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  It is preferred (though not absolutely necessary) that candidates be Roman Catholic, along with being familiar with parish life.

The CISE Office Coordinator/Donor Relations Manager serves two roles: 1. Is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operations for CISE, and 2. Administration of and managing the Raiser’s Edge database (RE NXT) while maintaining a good working relationship with CISE donors and volunteers.

Office Coordinator: Oversees office operations, office-related and administrative activities, leads scheduling for the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, and Governance Committee, plans for the meetings (includes agenda, meeting reminders, booking room, refreshment, information packets, and coordination with security/parking, welcoming members, and taking minutes). Keeps track of office necessities and supplies and ordering as necessary. Is the liaison with outside vendors. Provides administrative support to the Executive Director. Assists in opening mail and logging in checks, cash, and stock received as necessary. Is the main point of contact by email and phone for the CISE office. Assists with the planning and execution of CISE special events.

Donor Relations Manager: Is the administrator of Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT and maintains the integrity of the database, updates as necessary, stays current on use of RE NXT. Enters gift into RE database. Merges and prints letters to donors from RE. Oversees access to RE NXT. Runs queries/exports/reports as needed. Works on the CISE campaign with the Campaign Chair(s) and Steering Committee. Has the ability to work congenially with the CISE board, a variety of constituencies, the business community, donors, school communities, volunteers, and parents. Tracks and responds to life events of office staff, board members, and donors as much as possible. Maintains friendly, helpful relationship with board, donors, and all contacts of CISE. Responds in a timely manner to calls/emails.
