Clinical Director of Counseling Programs
The Diocese of Covington’s Catholic Charities ministry is seeking to hire a full-time Clinical Director for our faith-based counseling programs. Fifty percent of the Clinical Director’s responsibilities involves the administrative and clinical supervision of our counseling programs, and supervising our mental health, pregnancy, and adoption programs. Duties include staff coaching, training, accountability and evaluation, programmatic quality, and quantity assurance measures. The remaining fifty percent of the Clinical Director’s responsibilities involves providing direct service outpatient counseling.
Candidate requirements include:
- actively practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church;
- a Master’s degree in Social Work (preferred) or Counseling;

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati District Council (SVDP) has been providing innovative and practical basic needs assistance and systemic change advocacy for Cincinnati residents in need for 150 years. The organization works personally with those in need, regardless of race or creed, to bridge the gaps in their lives through home visits provided by neighborhood-based volunteer groups (Vincentians in Conferences); groundbreaking Outreach Center initiatives like the Charitable Pharmacy and Homelessness Prevention program; a network of 12 food pantries; and seven thrift stores across Cincinnati. SVDP has an immediate opportunity for a Social Services Advocate to play an integral role in providing services and uplifting engagement to our neighbors six days a week.
Scope of Position: The Social Service Advocate is the primary contact person for those requesting services from the organization. Engagement, assessment, eligibility determination, gathering documentation and service delivery are primary functions. Engaging neighbors to develop a holistic plan that incorporates help from SVDP with resources available through other agencies or individuals to address their needs is another critical function. The team member must be able to: 1) build relationships with neighbors in need, using a strengths- based approach to help them recognize and utilize their personal strengths and resources; 2) promote systemic change; and 3) adhere to SVDP’s policies and procedures to ensure program sustainability. Job Responsibilities:
- Engage neighbors seeking assistance to holistically assess overall situation, eligibility for assistance and provide appropriate SVDP assistance and referrals as necessary. Our current service model during COVID-19 includes working in the Call Center and gathering information for applications over the phone.
- Participate as a member of the SVDP Social Services team as well as positively interacting with Council members and staff.
- Assess and respond, as necessary, to needs of neighbors presenting critical situations at any time during business hours.
- Prepare case notes; develop and maintain files, enter required neighbor related data accurately into our electronic case management system.
- Participate in selection process used to identify requests for rent and utility assistance to receive funding.
- Understand how to access assistance from community resources as appropriate to address needs presented by neighbors.
- Lead/participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications: College degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related fields preferred. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) abilities are a plus. Scope of Position: The Volunteer Manager will interact with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to recruit and productively deploy a diverse pool of volunteers to compassionately serve our neighbors. He or she will provide volunteer opportunities that engage volunteers and suit their abilities, schedules, and desired experience. While delivering fulfilling volunteer experiences, the manager will model our mission and values and advance SVDP’s community impact. This is a Tuesday-Saturday role, with occasional evening hours, mainly for holidays and special events.
Job Responsibilities:
Recruitment: Identify and engage a diverse volunteer population to grow SVDP’s capacity and ensure effective operation of services
- Consult with staff on an ongoing basis in order to understand current volunteer needs and requirements
- Manage interview/assessment and placement process for new volunteers in SVDP programs
- Offer opportunities for Conference Vincentians to participate in our Council’s Outreach Centers, programs, and events
- Schedule all volunteer groups and individuals, ensuring that sufficient volunteers are available to meet service needs, including special events, distributions, and drives
- Responsively field inquiries from people seeking to get involved with SVDP
- Find creative ways to engage volunteers whose skill set or availability don’t fit into our traditional opportunities

Work Environment: Staff member will primarily work in an office environment – adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Activities will also include supervising volunteers in a variety of settings both within our facilities and off-site, including serving alongside volunteers for various projects. This position includes travel into our community to recruit, direct, and guide volunteers.
