The Chief Financial Officer serves as a member of the Leadership Team and reports directly to the President. The CFO provides the President, Finance Committee and Board of Trustees detailed financial forecasts and works in partnership with the President to implement the school’s strategic plan, school goals and initiatives as outlined by the President. This individual is the supervisor of the Business Operations Office and works with the President and department chairs in the preparation of financial forecasts, operating and capital budgets, collection of tuition and administration of financial aid. Responsibilities of the CFO include oversight and direction of the annual budget, annual CPA review or audit, and oversight of business and accounting practices, tax-related reporting, long-range forecasting, HR, facilities and risk management activities of the school.

Responsibilities:

£ Provides reliable and accurate financial information to the President; Board of Trustees, its officers and committees; the Finance Committee; external auditors; donors; federal, state, and local authorities, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati; and others internal and external to the school as directed and necessary.
£ Supports the President in the implementation of the strategic plan and school goals and initiatives as outlined by the President.
£ Oversees development and maintenance of the chart of accounts, establishment of accounting policies, and ensures internal financial control and financial regulatory compliance.
£ Assumes administrative responsibility for the school’s endowment and investments and provides appropriate information on invested funds. Implements decisions of the Finance Committee; coordinates with the investment manager and other custodians of the school’s funds to implement effective endowment allocation, performance, and reporting.
£ Directs all fiscal activities including all general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, contract and benefits administration, bank deposits, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
£ Oversees the business office role in the preparation and distribution of enrollment contracts.
£ Assists in maintaining congruency between the school’s Board-approved Mission Statement, the Long Range and Strategic Financial Plan and all activities of the business department.
£ Supports and adheres to school policies in all areas of the school’s operation.
£ Develops and maintains the Employee Handbook and supports the School Handbooks, assists with revisions and updates, when necessary, of the school’s business office policies and procedures.
£ Works as part of the Leadership Team focusing on strategy, vision, and leadership for all aspects of the mission, vision, and ethos of the school.
£ Establishes and maintains relationships with banks, auditors, outside counsel, insurance companies, fund managers, other financial institutions, and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
£ Coordinates with the Archdiocesan CFO as necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the school.
£ Takes responsibility for the details of cash control and management and reports fraud.
£ Participates in the financial assistance awarding process and the resulting preparation and distribution of financial assistance.
£ Serves as the primary staff member for the Finance Committee and prepares reports and models as needed.
£ Attends Leadership Team meetings and Board meetings as required.
£ Maintains a strategic financial plan and overall financial model that will demonstrate the trends and requirements of the school’s development plan and will forecast future year’s cash budgets and positions.
£ Proactively works with staff and the President on alternative revenue streams and various financial models to ensure the long-term financial health for the school.
£ Keeps the President informed of all the school’s financial affairs and condition.
£ Coordinates all aspects of the school’s risk management.
£ Supports all budget managers and provides training as needed
£ Researches, and attends professional development offerings.
£ Knowledgeable about Black baud software; supervises and uses financial and tuition assistance management modules and/or other school management software programs. Recommends changes/upgrades as necessary.
£ Completes various tasks related to the employee’s yearly goals and the school’s long range and strategic financial plan.
£ Evaluates the Business Office’s strengths and weaknesses and develops goals/plans and systems that will improve department performance and customer service in accordance with the school’s strategic plan.

£ 5 – 7 years’ experience in non-profit accounting, experience with endowment accounting highly desirable.

The Principal serves as the chief Faith, academic, community, and operational leader of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School, which serves students in grades pre-k through 8.  It is a multi-cultural and multi-national community.  The Principal, as a faith leader, shares the Pastor’s vision of using the school as a tool for evangelization and serves as a faith witness to the school and parish community.  The principal acts as the chief spokesperson for the school and ensures that the school authentically reflects the teaching of the Church, the initiatives of the archdiocese, and the needs of the families it serves.

CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:
The role of Principal requires the following skills and experience to ensure effectiveness in the position: A minimum of Master’s degree in Education with certified Principal license; A minimum of three years of administrative leadership; preferably within an inner-city setting; Demonstrated strong public relations skills, including verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work collaboratively; Ability to work in a complex organizational setting; Proficiency in communication techniques; Must be a practicing Catholic with a personal faith commitment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership, oversight, and accountability for the Faith, academic, community, and operational programs of the school.
  • As the Principal, you will play a crucial role in upholding the quality of the school’s Catholic identity, ensuring that it authentically reflects the teachings of the Church. Your commitment to this aspect of the role will be instrumental in shaping the spiritual growth of our students and the ethos of our school community.

  • Meets regularly with School Educational Commission to receive feedback on the school’s quality, policies, and strategic plan.
  • Regularly conducts faculty meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Attends Archdiocesan Principals’ Meetings, School Cluster Meetings, and other meetings required by the archdiocese.
