eucharistic revival - year of mission

This is an exciting new season of the Eucharistic Revival movement. The Holy Spirit has enkindled a missionary fire in the heart of our Archdiocese, and now the Holy Spirit is sending out every member of the Church to spread the Good News—sharing the gift of our Eucharistic Lord with those on the margins. And YOU are invited to be a part of it!
The Archdiocese has a number of opportunities planned for this Year of Mission, and this site is the place to find information about all of them.
We look forward to joining you as we bring the healing love and presence of Christ to all of our sisters and brothers.

Letters from the Archbishop

Love In Action

In the Beacons of Light process, all of the faithful are called to be Love in Action. With Love in Action, families of parishes will be communities of charity and justice, serving those most in need and working to change systems that oppress and marginalize.
Salt & Light
To support families of parishes in this effort, we have developed a powerful formation program called Salt & Light. Click here to learn more about the program, or check out the flyer for some basic information and details about upcoming offerings.
Parish Ministry Fairs
During this Year of Mission, we’re also encouraging families of parishes to hold a Ministry Fair to highlight their existing charitable and justice programs and encourage more engagement. Please click here to check out the Ministry Fair Guidelines we’ve developed to support these efforts.

food for all
In his October 2004 apostolic letter Mane Nobiscum Domine, Pope St. John Paul II wrote: “[B]y our mutual love and, in particular, by our concern for those in need we will be recognized as true followers of Christ (cf. Jn. 13:35; Mt. 25:31-46). This will be the criterion by which the authenticity of our Eucharistic celebrations is judged” (28).
When we are fed at the Lord’s table, we are called to bring that love and grace we receive out into the world. There are of course myriad ways to do this, and we’d like to offer two options for families of parishes. One is a charitable action (that is, an action that addresses an acute, pressing need that is causing suffering in someone’s life). The other is a justice activity (that is, an activity that addresses a root cause of suffering).
Food Drive
As a charitable action, we are suggesting that every Family of Parishes and schools do a food drive. What you collect and where the food is donated is up to each Family, but we want to show the tremendous, collective impact we as Catholics can have on the broader community.

Farm Bill Advocacy
As a justice activity, we recommend that Families of Parishes undertake a letter writing campaign to advocate for justice and care for those in need in the massive federal legislation that is the Farm Bill. The Farm Bill covers billions of dollars in the areas of food, foreign aid, and farms.

Mass of Celebration
On Sunday, June 1, at 10:00am we will celebrate this Year of Mission with Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains. On this, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, Archbishop Schnurr will honor the Godly work we’ve done as an archdiocese, bringing the love of Christ to all people in our community.
Archbishop Schnurr has designated this celebratory Mass as an occasion to receive a plenary indulgence for the Jubilee Year of 2025. To learn more, click here.
