St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish is seeking energetic candidates to apply for the position of Pastoral Associate for Communications.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, under the supervision of the pastor.

The Pastoral Associate for Communications develops and implements an overall strategy for the communications of the parish in order to evangelize, educate and inform.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and publish content across various communication channels: print, websites, social media, blog posts, feature stories, videos, infographics, etc.
  • Work cooperatively to support parish staff, commissions and ministries
  • Ensure St. Maximilian Kolbe Church identity, brand and mission is expressed consistently through all media channels
  • Creatively maintain and optimize website, SEO and overall digital footprint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field desired
  • An understanding of the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Previous experience and knowledge in web design and content management systems
  • Working knowledge of email marketing and campaign software such as Constant Contact, Flocknote or MailChimp
  • Previous experience in graphic design and content creation (Adobe CC or equivalent design programs)

St. Mary, Hyde Park, is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Music starting October 1, 2021.  St. Mary has a thriving music ministry, including adult choir and cantor program, a Steinway baby grand piano, and a newly rebuilt 3-manual, Schantz pipe organ (December 2019).  Primary responsibilities are to play organ/piano at the 4:00 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass as well as the Wednesday morning school Mass (9:00 a.m.) during the school year, the Tuesday 5:30 p.m. Mass and Benediction, work with and train cantors from the school and parish, assist when needed for Holy Days, weddings, and funerals.  The ideal candidate should have a degree in music and/or experience in a parish liturgical music program, proficiency in piano, organ, and voice, a knowledge of liturgy and good pastoral skills. The Director of Music Ministry is responsible for:

  • Planning and leading the congregation at the two English weekend liturgies and all holy days.
  • Responsible for planning and leading the music for all special English or bi-lingual sacramental liturgies including weddings and funerals.
  • Directing the choir and cantors to prepare for the weekend liturgies.
  • Review music submitted by our Hispanic musicians for the Spanish Masses
  • If Music Director doesn’t play the piano or organ, they are responsible for regularly scheduling someone who does.
  • Ensuring the instrumental and sound equipment is maintained.

A strong candidate will have strong vocal skills. Must be a practicing Catholic with liturgical knowledge. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Must be able to pass a background check and be within compliance with the Decree on Child Protect prior to start of employment.
