St. John the Baptist Parish in Tipp City, OH is seeking a part-time Custodian.

The Custodian provides coordinated janitorial services for the church and facilities. Cleans and maintains church, office areas, classrooms, washrooms, restrooms, drinking fountains, banquet hall and kitchen areas as needed. Cleans walls, windows, dusting, mopping, vacuuming and assist with waxing floors. Will assist with maintaining stock of required janitorial supplies. Will coordinate activities with Maintenance Supervisor and Business Manager as needed.

This position requires knowledge to perform minor to moderate repair of dry wall, electrical, plumbing both indoor and outdoor as needed; attend to water heaters and HVAC units; works with vendors as needed; performs other tasks as directed; oversees janitor and works with office personnel to prepare for banquets, holidays, funerals etc.; housekeeping tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fuses and janitorial work may be required; order supplies and tools; work with entry and fire systems as needed.

The Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is seeking a part-time Northern Area Coordinator in the Catholic Social Action Office. This is a 21-hour position which combines the coordination of ministerial duties to the northern part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati with a small amount of administrative assistant duties for the office.

The coordinator will assist in the Catholic Social Teaching formation and social ministry work in the St. Marys and Sidney Deaneries.  This position advances the Catholic Social Action Office’s mission to empower Catholics in the Archdiocese to celebrate and live out the Gospel call for life, human dignity, and care for God’s creation through Catholic Social Teaching formation, organized social ministries, and opportunities for public advocacy and action.

This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in office work and Catholic social justice ministry; understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and involvement in social justice issues; good phone and people skills, including an ability to relate well face-to-face with diverse constituencies; willingness to work as a team, both receiving direction and identifying solutions in a ministerial field; knowledge of modern office procedures and methods; knowledge of modern business communication; the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without constant supervision; the ability to handle and resolve recurring problems and attention to detail.

This position fosters and enhances communication for Holy Angels parish and school. The successful candidate will cultivate relationships among the staff, parishioners, diocese and local community. Enabling the pastor and parish to better communicate the vision of Holy Angels to bring salvation to all within the Sidney area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships among staff, parishioners, diocese and local community. Communicates parish events using electronic and print media, paying close attention to parish culture and vision, as well as church teaching.
  • Works closely with parish staff and ministry leaders to understand the goals of each parish department and ministry.
  • Create and manage graphics and content for all social channels, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, etc., in compliance with parish and diocesan guidelines.
  • Manage and update parish website.
  • Attend church events and meetings as appropriate to fulfill duties of the position.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Publisher and Outlook.
  • Skilled in both written and oral communication.
  • Ability to manage parish web site and several social media accounts.
  • Ability to work with a varying group of individuals
  • Ability to work flexible hours on campus (mostly day hours.)

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background and drug screening.
  • Certified in Safe Environment training by the Office Of Safe Environment and Child/ Family Resources
  • Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

Hours:
