SUMMARY:

The Music Ministry Director gives leadership to the traditional worship services of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish by using the organ/piano to lift the congregation in music for the praise of God. Supervision: The Organist serves under the supervision of the Pastor.

Responsibilities:

  • Select and provide organ music at all traditional weekend Masses
  • Select hymns appropriate in conjunction with the pastor which are reflective of the liturgical season and designated Scripture texts.
  • Coordinate with funeral choir director and choir for Funeral Masses
  • Coordinate with choir director for the Youth Choir
  • Coordinate with the choir director for the Adult Choir
  • Oversee cantor ministry
  • Arrange for a substitute for all absences
  • Choose and purchase organ music within the approved budgetary parameters
  • Work with the Pastor regarding any items that you feel need to be maintained such as tuning and maintenance of all musical instruments of the church outside of the existing scheduled maintenance
  • Provide organ/piano music for weddings held at the church when the organ is the primary instrument used. Fees for these services are not provided by the church, but from couples and families based upon your set fee.
  • Submit budget requests each fall as part of the budgetary process of the Pastoral Council and Finance Committee.

Working Conditions

  • The Organist shall rehearse sufficiently to maintain a high quality of music at the organ.
  • An annual performance review will be done with the Pastor.
  • Cooperate with all staff and musicians of the congregation so that music ministry is enhanced within the life of the church.
  • The Organist shall seek professional relationships with other church musicians and keep abreast of developments in worship and liturgy through associations, continuing education, and professional church publications.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of an associates of Music degree/relevant experience and sufficient keyboard ability to sight read hymns, liturgy, and accompaniments.
  • Knowledge of Catholic worship tradition and a theological understanding of the church sufficient to appropriately select music and texts for traditional worship.
  • Experience as a “team player” in a church setting working with staff, musicians, and volunteers.

BOOKKEEPING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain Parishsoft Accounting System
  • Maintain employee records
  • Accounts Payable – weekly
  • Make bank deposits and record in ParishSoft
  • Process payroll – bi-weekly
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance ParishSoft accounting at month end
  • Print Monthly Financial Reports
  • Collect W-9’s for new vendors; maintain W-9 binder and file 1099’s annually

  • Create and prepare yearly fiscal reports for the Parish and Archdiocese in August
  • Track all rental income and reimburse deposits
  • Meet with the Finance Committee on a quarterly basis
  • Oversee money counting of weekly collection on Mondays
  • Calculate envelope totals and breakdown for bulletin information
  • Record parishioner donations in GabrielSoft

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree or Prior work experience in bookkeeping.

The Coordinator of Sacramental Life is responsible for coordinating the schedules of the four priests of the NW-7 Family of Parishes (St. Michael, Fort Loramie; Sacred Heart, McCartyville; Ss. Peter & Paul, Newport; Holy Angels, Sidney.) This means justly distributing various weddings, funerals, and baptisms between priests. Would manage the schedule regarding sacraments for all priests. For funerals, the coordinator of sacramental life will be the point of contact for funeral directors. The coordinator will work closely with the pastor to better understand his vision and aid him in implementing his pastoral vision. Help the pastor to bring about unity in the Family of Parishes. The coordinator would be responsible for managing the pastor’s schedule and would also become responsible for composing and responding to emails that fall within their competence on behalf of the pastor. Composing correspondence to the parishes, groups, or individuals would be expected of the coordinator when needed. The coordinator would be asked to plan and organize liturgical events (e.g. processions, holy hours, etc.) This individual would need to ensure that liturgical items are well kept and stocked for the celebration of the sacraments. When needed the coordinator will meet with individuals and groups on behalf of the pastor. The coordinator would need to be flexible in their responsibilities to best serve the Family of Parishes and its priests.

  • Experience/qualifications in communication
  • Technologically proficient.
  • Skilled in grammar and English composition.
  • Able to hold confidence of priests and parishioners.

St. Henry Cluster, St. Henry, Ohio is looking to hire a Facilities Manager.

St. John the Baptist Parish in Tipp City, OH is seeking a part-time Custodian.

The Custodian provides coordinated janitorial services for the church and facilities. Cleans and maintains church, office areas, classrooms, washrooms, restrooms, drinking fountains, banquet hall and kitchen areas as needed. Cleans walls, windows, dusting, mopping, vacuuming and assist with waxing floors. Will assist with maintaining stock of required janitorial supplies. Will coordinate activities with Maintenance Supervisor and Business Manager as needed.

St. John the Baptist Parish in Tipp City, OH is seeking a part-time Maintenance Supervisor.

This position requires knowledge to perform minor to moderate repair of dry wall, electrical, plumbing both indoor and outdoor as needed; attend to water heaters and HVAC units; works with vendors as needed; performs other tasks as directed; oversees janitor and works with office personnel to prepare for banquets, holidays, funerals etc.; housekeeping tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fuses and janitorial work may be required; order supplies and tools; work with entry and fire systems as needed.
