The Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is seeking a part-time Northern Area Coordinator in the Catholic Social Action Office. This is a 21-hour position which combines the coordination of ministerial duties to the northern part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati with a small amount of administrative assistant duties for the office.

The coordinator will assist in the Catholic Social Teaching formation and social ministry work in the St. Marys and Sidney Deaneries. This position advances the Catholic Social Action Office’s mission to empower Catholics in the Archdiocese to celebrate and live out the Gospel call for life, human dignity, and care for God’s creation through Catholic Social Teaching formation, organized social ministries, and opportunities for public advocacy and action.

This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in office work and Catholic social justice ministry; understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and involvement in social justice issues; good phone and people skills, including an ability to relate well face-to-face with diverse constituencies; willingness to work as a team, both receiving direction and identifying solutions in a ministerial field; knowledge of modern office procedures and methods; knowledge of modern business communication; the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without constant supervision; the ability to handle and resolve recurring problems and attention to detail.

This position fosters and enhances communication for Holy Angels parish and school. The successful candidate will cultivate relationships among the staff, parishioners, diocese and local community. Enabling the pastor and parish to better communicate the vision of Holy Angels to bring salvation to all within the Sidney area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Cultivate relationships among staff, parishioners, diocese and local community. Communicates parish events using electronic and print media, paying close attention to parish culture and vision, as well as church teaching.
Works closely with parish staff and ministry leaders to understand the goals of each parish department and ministry.
Create and manage graphics and content for all social channels, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, etc., in compliance with parish and diocesan guidelines.
Manage and update parish website.
Attend church events and meetings as appropriate to fulfill duties of the position.

Minimum Requirements:

Practicing Catholic in good standing.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Publisher and Outlook.
Skilled in both written and oral communication.
Ability to manage parish web site and several social media accounts.
Ability to work with a varying group of individuals
Ability to work flexible hours on campus (mostly day hours.)

Additional Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License
Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background and drug screening.
Certified in Safe Environment training by the Office Of Safe Environment and Child/ Family Resources
Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

Hours:
20-29 Hours per week.

St. Stephen/St. Mary Cemeteries has an immediate opening for a full-time cemetery worker to perform semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance and care of its grounds and related structures, and landscaping. The job requires working with machinery and equipment with considerable caution; frequently lifting and standing. The position is full-time, 40 hours/week. St. Peter in Chains located just moments from the heart of Hamilton, Ohio is in need of a part-time pastoral musician to lead the music ministry of the parish. Duties include leading music at weekend Masses (solo, with cantor, with choir), leading music at the Tuesday morning school Mass, leading music at occasional evening Praise and Worship events, planning liturgical music, directing the parish choir, maintaining music files, communications about music ministry in the parish bulletin, and other similar duties as deemed necessary by the pastor. The candidate must be able to play accompaniment on both piano and organ and be able to sight read music. The ideal candidate is passionate about the church’s liturgical tradition as well as current liturgical practice. The ideal candidate may also be outgoing, creative, and an experienced choral conductor who is able to relate to people from all walks of life.

This position is regularly scheduled for 15 hours/week, not including funerals and weddings.
